A video that has been requested time and time again has been How To Animate Like Johnny Harris. This week I’ve decided to listen to the people and give them what they want. Johnny Harris and his team put out a lot of great content but this specific sequence caught my eye, which is why we are breaking it down and recreating it. It uses one of my favourite techniques: THE MATCH CUT.
As always, thank you for watching!

For the maps Johnny uses a plugging called geo layer, doing this manually is time consuming, but it's good to know the techniques first thanks for sharing
@mapal

Yup but as you mentioned it's important to know the techniques and have a basic understanding of it before you cut corners
very thanks your channel~
Thank you for the amazing tutorial can you do a tutorial for the style of editing in Johnny Harris's second channel called Search Party
Keep going brother 👦
Great video mate, but just one request, in your last video you didn't exactly tell how to add glow to the pie chart or how to add color to the pyramid animation.
love from India brother
Super helpful, do you also have a tutorial on how to sync the animations you make on After Effects with voice-over?
@mapal
8 ай бұрын
I don’t but I usually export the clip from DaVinci, drag it into Ae, and then I do the animations from there

Anyone know if it's possible to link saber or saber title to a null object/e3d layer? I have a rotating e3d object and want to link saber to follow it.
The quality you provide is unparalleled!! Could you also do Motion tutorials for your Apple fanboys (aka the poor guys who can’t afford the adobe subscriptions)?

FX console! It’s a free plugin
Is your Flow preset available to download? :)
make more videos like this
that fast box blur thing looks so good i really like it. is there a more efficient way to do it? not sure if there could be a preset made for it maybe?
@mapal
Ай бұрын
You can easily set it up as a preset with FX Console where you just have to create an adjustment layer and then add the preset. Then you wont have to add the keyframes manually!

Awesome tutorial man, well explained, lots of good content there. Showing all the process. I just wanna know if there is an effect to use as alternative to the paid one... I know you kinda profits on sells, but just let your, cheap, poor, followers, like myself, know an alternative way to make it looks similar to the final result. Thx a lot.
@mapal

You can get a similar effect by making 3 copies of your comp and adding the rgb effect. Set each one to its own colour channel and change the blending mode. Then on one of the layers add optics compensation and adjust. This video covers it to a certain extent: How To Make a VHS CRT Look in After Effects - Tutorial kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z2uEyZuRitjOlcY.html
hey would it look better if we were to add shadows to the red pointer in the map? Just asking if it is possible to add a shadow animation

Definitely!
Hey, is there a different way to get the Warp Chroma effect other then the payed plugin?
@mapal
3 ай бұрын
You might be able to finesse something by splitting up your final comp into 3 and setting each to RGB respectively. Then adding some sort of distortion to get a similar look. A bit more tedious but should be possible
