How to Animate in Clip Studio Paint on an iPad

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

My iPad is a 13 inch 2nd generation, and at the time of recording this in January 2022, it was updated to OS 15.3 and Clip Studio Paint was running 1.11.8 which were the most recent updates.

    Hey! The overflow frame is used to extend the drawing used for the animations, in case you wanted to reframe the composition. It cuts off the edges where the overflow frame starts on export, which is nice, because it will make the edges crisp. I like to extend my line/color into it, so that there is no way that I would be accidentally not filling the whole canvas. Any playback removes the overflow frame, so you will always know what it will look like without it. Think of it as buffer space haha

    I REALLY appreciate how concise this was. I've messed with Procreate for animation but CSP was always my preferred program. I'm mainly an illustrator, but I always liked dipping my toes in animation ever since Flipnote was a thing. Was always intimidated by all the stuff CSP throws at you, but you've narrowed down the essentials. :)

    Writing this on my new 12.9 inch iPad Pro…after watching this video I really felt like I can work my way around csp ex… and actually I quite like it even more now! All thanks to you… first as I installed the csp ex I felt like it is quite small to draw on as I usually use a 32 inch display with my windows laptop … but it isn’t like that any more I did some managements and it is good now! Before purchasing I pad I felt like maybe the screen would be too small for me to work but as it is quite close to your face then a monitor I think it cancels out that feeling… but still I would not recommend going for a 11 inch model if ur purpose is to animate on this device… cheers…

    ' How to import audio to CSP on iPad ? ' - Searching for the answer took my whole day but i did it with a little work around. I really appreciate for this tutorial video, so thank you. At 16.38 you say you cannot import audio clips or dialogues and you are right i have tried many many ways to solve it today. And finally made it work. I have downloaded a .wav & .mp3 format of sound from the internet and it didn't work. Then i tried to search for it and find no answers but i also find this info that the format of sound should be ' 8 or 16 ' bitrate sound. So i got this idea; i have used format factory, re - typed the output settings to 16 bitrate by hand and convert it to an mp3. Now it works on iPad perfectly. You can put any sound this way. Thank you again for this tutorial and hope this will help you and the people who reads it. Couldn't find any other solution than this. Have a great day.

  • @kwk111
    @kwk111 Жыл бұрын

    Okay, several question: how do you select and move frames? If I wanna shift a set of cells forward without increasing or decreasing frames? Secondly, your timeline doesn’t show the cells as images but just as numbers, how can I do that? Thirdly, when I create a new cell, it is automatically the full length of the timeline. How do I set it up so that a new animation cell is just one frame? Forth… …ly, how do I copy paste a cell and change it without affecting the original cell? Fifthly, can I choose whether the increase/delete frames affects the the front end or the back end of the cell? Timeline-wise Much love, this is a great program that is incredibly unintuitive to learn.

    @@theantidevil4life Ahh sorry, yeah that's it! I think pro only gives you 24 or 25 frames. I specifically upgraded to EX to be able to extend my timeline.

    I wouldn't imagine it's too different depending on what device you use, but I do know it looks pretty different when you first open it up and it took me a while of dragging things around until I got the layout I wanted. I think I said in the video that I tried to reset it to the default view but it wouldn't let me!

    Hello! Just a question, can you add more than 25 fps in the ipad version of CSP? because in the laptop version it can only go until 24 frams right, so u need to upgrade it to CSP EX to get unlimited frames, does the ipad version allows over 25 fps like EX version or its similar to CSP pro? I’m considering on animating on ipad since my laptop’s crappy af, on animation finalizing and stuff but if the CSP ipad doesn’t allow over 25fps then.. i might just be wasting my money ;

    Hey the iPad version is also divided into Pro or EX, and you would need to upgrade to EX to get more than 24 frames

    Hey, sorry this is 2 days later! The panel is probably just not activated. If you go up to Window in the top menu, Timeline is 3/4 of the way down
