It’s time for another simple timeless style video - for those days when you have absolutely nothing to wear!
I got through three different occasions: casual, professional, and evening, with ideas on how to use basics plus add ons to always feel beautiful and comfortable.
i talk about:
- the basics for casual wear
- ‘60s mods
- the trench coat / turtleneck / headband / raybans / twiggy / t-shirt and jeans
- add ons: bags, shoes, red lipstick, jewellery, vintage pieces
- all black everything for night time wear and events and parties
- shirt plus trousers or loose fitting dresses for comfort and ease
- givenchy, celine, vegan bags
- for when you have nothing to wear
- repeat wear your basics by styling them differently
- timeless classics that never go out of style
- modern versions of old time trends
- investment statement pieces
- ant-trends
- all to always feel that you look good

I love the belt! Unfortunately, I haven’t had a waist since the 1960’s! Love and look best in tailored and mens-wear style and I’ve been rotating outfits for years. Beautiful, Jenny, and beautiful Jenny.

yes! I actually have a waist and I am really short and soft so oversized with a belt just makes me look shorter and rounder 🤣 Everything else works..

Totally agree on the timeless appeal of the 60s mod style. I see it a lot when I watch European films from that era, especially French new wave. The style is so classic and would look just as smart today as it did then. Super inspiring.

There is one question popping up in my mind: Why do I feel the need to always look good? Its like I can only feel good when looking good. Who teached me so? Lets think about it. By the way - I totaly agree with you. The 60s nailed it.

I never repeat-wear outfits. I find the challenge of styling the same clothes in different ways really exciting, for me it’s one of the best things about clothes. Also, if I wear the same outfit too often then I’m afraid I’d get bored of it and eventually stop wearing it and get rid of it - although tbf, if it’s like a ‘special occasion’ outfit and I last wore it a year or so ago then I’ll happily re-wear it as I’ve had the past year to get excited about it !

The 60s were such a radical departure from the previous decade, not only in fashion but on all fronts! In my view, it was the decade where the world changed. So much that came to be then has endured -- although there has been some backsliding. I like to think we are keeping the good things and improving when we can. It's definitely a decade to look to for inspiration!

I think everything looked good in the modernist era of Mies van de Rohe, Alvar Aalto and Corbusier. Simple, clean, neat. In terms of clothing, what my grandma wore in the 60s in HK was very elegant- pearl earrings, hair in a bun and a shift dress, heels and handbag.

Since I was about 19, my look has been clothes inspired by Dior New Look, Chanel chic, and Audrey Hepburn “masculine” style. Obviously modernized, but high quality bought at discounted price, and some pieces have lasted up to 20 years! I always find a way to add a new piece and mix it with older ones to look fresh and current. Neutral colors basics with splashes of bright ones 😊. Style never goes out of fashion, dixit Gabrielle Chanel

i add a lot of mod elements in my sort of modern, sleek goth look. turtleneck with a blazer, black doc martens. for the other guys out here, i use different lapel pins on my blazer as an add-on. it adds a tiny bit of color and variation. also, interesting socks! i wear shorter pants to show off my socks and they catch attention.

Dear Jenny, I’m very curious what brands your blazers are from. Blazers are great investment pieces but they tend to look incredibly ridiculous (on me) if the cut just doesn’t fit. I would really appreciate to hear your recommendations! Personally, I love boxy and oversized cuts but I never feel comfortable in them. So I usually go for the more tailored cuts.

I love your style! However, my size and shape is as opposite from yours as it can get. I am quite short, have large breasts, and a very short torso. Most of what you wear would look dreadful on me. For example, turtlenecks are very unflattering, and an oversized coat cinched in with a belt would look horrible with my big boobs sitting right on top of the belt. It took me years to figure out what works for me but I eventually did and now I get compliments all the time and finally feel like I look my best. So much depends on our proportions.
