Thank for the video. I have a 2006 Kia Sportage My parking brake was maxed out its a stick shift so I really needed to fix it. It was getting a little scary backing up the boat at the launch. It took me about 35 minuets thanks to your video.

good work, i see you are a fan of Aldi tools, they do seem solid and good value, people are usually too proud and buy expensive brands. i have several of their tools and none have been bad, i even have a similar ratchet i bought from china for my car carry set, it is solid, perhaps too heavy and thick, but will not break.

Thank you - you're a creative man - in my country all bought cheap stuff - and the whole of China - but China's stuff is not good in general - what is the car owned by type? What's your profession?

i used to be a welder, and for a while worked repairing power tools for a hire company, but for fun used to restore old motorcycles(did everything, paint, electrical, nickel plating, engine work, respoking wheels) and also used to service my own car, and have done complete engine rebuilds, replacements, clutch replacements and some body work on them, but am disabled now, but i kept most of my hand tools and even still watch and learn from people. ive bought many tools from aldi, lidl, do not buy snap on due to very expensive, and often buy from ebay-china for a cheap deal, sometimes you get good sometimes bad. my 'go-to' brand is usually draper , who are an importer from anywhere but usually pick very good tools, if only aldi/lidl had an item more than once a year! i often look on ebay for used draper or german made tools as you can get bargains, such as many bosch power tools which i like, as well as the mechanics tools from germany or old british made too

You should just be able to pull the bottom panel out of the console box and do that. There's a hole in the console box that is directly above the e-brake adjuster bracket.

On a 2011 Sportage, I could see the adjustment nut through the hole, but there was not enough room to work and it would be very difficult to get a standard size socket wrench on there, and would take a very long time to tighten assuming you could get the socket on the nut. Maybe it’s practical if you have the right tools but I had to go in through the back.

@@JohnGodwin777 A ratcheting box end wrench works fine. I don't have any long extensions for my ratchets but I do have a set of ratcheting wrenches aka gear wrenches, so that was the method I found easiest. Also, I was replacing the stock console with the armrest console, so I was already looking at it and decided to adjust while I was in there.
