A hub gear, internal-gear hub, or just gear hub is a gear ratio changing system commonly used on bicycles that is implemented with planetary or epicyclic gears. The gears and lubricants are sealed within the shell of the hub gear, in contrast with derailleur gears where the gears and mechanism are exposed to the elements. Changing the gear ratio was traditionally accomplished by a shift lever connected to the hub with a Bowden cable, and twist-grip style shifters have become common.
Hub gear systems generally have a long and largely maintenance-free life though some are not suitable for high-stress use in competitions or hilly, off-road conditions. Many commuter or urban cycles such as European city bikes are now commonly fitted with 7-speed gear-hubs and 8-speed systems are becoming increasingly available. Older or less costly utility bicycles often use 3-speed gear-hubs, such as in bicycle sharing systems. Many folding bicycles use 3-speed gear-hubs. Modern developments with up to 14 gear ratios are available.

I have sram p5 spectre gearbox and the gears are too loose, how do i adjust it so the 1st gear is harder? Get more resistance when cycling?
Pduesp, Do you know is it possible to replace a broken S7 gripshifter , with the 8 - 9 grip shifter? I am not looking for more gears, the 7 gear shifters are expensive

Do you tighten the screw up by the shifter that you loosened before you started the adjustment?
We’ve got one of these on my wife’s bike but she doesn’t like the back pedal brake. I’m wondering if I could just remove the internal brake pads? Does anyone know if this would work and how to dismantle this hub?
I have one of these and the hub will not downshift. Can I flush it out without complete disassembly and then re lube it?

The gears work fine, but they are slow to actuate : for example, when I switch from the 7th to the 1st gear, it takes four or five seconds to adjust, it's not immediate. Should I spray some lubrifiant in the gear metallic pin location?

Lubrication is every time the first step except brake pads
No gear shifting possible after having tried this. It simply does NOT work.
I have a Scram S7, but after some while the meter is frozen on position 5. Switching still working. Repair is too expensive though.
I want buy a click box but idont know from where.please help me
