    I’ve been a retinal photographer for over 20 years and I never learned optician skills. My glasses were painfully out of adjustment but your simple, concise video got me back to the best vision and balance for my glasses. Thanks so much for sharing your instructions.

    Worked great! Have been wearing glasses for 30 years and never able to adjust the nose pads successfully myself. Always made it worse (even after reversing my own adjustment). This time I got it!!! These crucial little tips are so helpful.

    just sharing, if you feel that one of the pads is pushing stronger than the other, adjusting the height of the pads is the solution. So the gap between the nose and the pads must be all equal either left or right. Stronger push means that pad's gap to your nose is closer than the other pad so you can either make it the stronger pad further or you can move the weak pad closer to balance it out

    Great vid. Though I was hoping you might explain why when they're comfortable, it hurts later when we take them off. I've tried adjusting them to sit more loose and the pads will then hurt the nose further down. I can't see well at all without my glasses.

    My main problem was not addressed and there may not be a solution. I have a very thin bony bridge. Adjustments do not work. Oversized bridge pads do not work. I have sewn soft rubber cups over the pads, but that does not work. It works better than anything else, but still leaves a large red area that aches. My pads are adjustable, but no adjustment seems to work. Contact lenses are out of the question for me as my eyes are deep set, and I'm 78 years old and do not want the aggravation. So other than some sort of band over my head holding the glasses off my nose, I don't know what to do. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • @weldonyoung1013

    @weldonyoung1013

    Жыл бұрын

    No you were not - careless. It is a risk you take anytime you try to adjust the frame part of metal eyeglasses. Usually you are better off, by trying to improve the fit by first optimizing the fit by bending the temple or arms first. Any adjustment of the nose pad carriers should be gentle or left to an optician (who can assume the risk). That's hard to do when a nose piece is digging in.

    Another tip... not all faces are totally equal from left to right... so you'll likely need minor adjustments to each nose pads too. Plus your ears aren't totally level too.

  • @weldonyoung1013

    @weldonyoung1013

    Жыл бұрын

    You can add another one. But it is not likely to help, as manufacturers don't make them. Larger nose pads !!! Manufacturers only make replacement pads with shorter or longer over nose reach, not nose pads with different size nose contact areas.
