Cannot believe it was that easy to fix my CX-7 front truck - when the bottom piece of metal had slipped out of that nipple , I thought I broke something internally - turns out just needed to watch this and fix it in 5 minutes!

Just got my C7 Carson Proteus today. Your videos were instrumental in helping me decide on which board to purchase so I went for it. This has been an intention for some time and was a bit overwhelming. Your instruction really helped to break down the basics and after only a few videos I was comfortable enough to take the jump and get a board. I have no prior experience or knowledge and want to use it to train to surf (no experience there either) and decompress mentally while on land. I used your technique for measuring surf stance to determine board length (and came in at 19 inches). I also watched your reviews and decided on the C7 truck. Good luck with your project. Thank you for your help in making this sport accessible to a novice. (43 year old female athlete)

Hey dude on adjusting your kingpin you could try using a flat washer on the streetside bushing instead of a cupped washer may give you an even greater range of motion since the bushing can deform even more. Could be worth investigating to dial in your ride even more.

Thank you for that video! Really helpful as I got my first C7 truck. Also good to read in the comments about upcoming problems - like people having to tighten again and again, I’ll keep an eye on that. Since my pink Riptide bushings on my Carver CX the C7 feels more stiff/stable compared to that 😅. I’m gonna experiment with the bushings and spring settings. So glad about your channel and bringing people together.

It would be nice if there were different gauge spring options for the c7. A stronger spring would be nice for heavier riders and would also have a different tension curve at a loose setting.

Thanks for the video! But, I have one question about the adjustments. I tried tightening and loosening the spring and the kingpin, but can’t get rid of a constant creaking noise. It starts making the noise as soon as I place weight up front, if I remove my front foot the noise disappears. Leaning left or right doesn’t seem to make any difference in the noise. Even going as straight as possible with no leaning the noise persists. Any advice on what could be the issue? Thanks!

Disassembled and cleaned off all the grease from the threads but it seems to be reoccurring. Is this a common problem? You answered my question, it smaller then the C7. I thought I might be able buy it from Carver because it harder and more money to buy it from Smoothstar. My friend found a real old smooth star at a thrift store and I got it from him and took it apart and the spring was really rusty and the link bar on the end hole was worn. Looks like it will cost me at lease $50. to order from smoothstar.

  • @SurfskateLove

Yes it would be. Unfortunately, we don't have aftermarket bushings in the precise sizes for the C7 front truck. The rear on the C7 is the C2, which is the same as is on the CX. Which means you can use CX bushings on a C7 rear. But RipTide is currently working on the right sizes for the C7 front truck.
