My lousy handyman installed this and told me he has this same jeld wen sliding door and you need to latch halfway then close the doors then fully latch. 😅 Just want to chime in that by adjusting ghe latch height and strike i was able to make them latch properly without two separate latch action.

Good job. Ours worked perfectly for 3 years and then suddenly, it will only latch if you extend the mortise latch out (lever at half way position) and then you can get it to grab and lock. Fiddling with the adjusting screw does nothing. I assume this means I have to move the striker box/plate up a little? Opinion?

It is impossible for me to line up the latch like the video. The latch sits way too far back inside the door, latch is fully extended (Learned this in your other video by turning the screw clockwise with flat head screwdriver, thanks). The latch still will not hook into the striker plate area. Also, this door has no rollers that I can see. Thanks for any help you can provide. Luckily, we have a floor lock that we push by foot in order to lock the sliding glass door.
