Thanks for the tutorial I found this in November 2021 now got new laptop and using the free version untill I learn everything there is to learn about synesthesia, streaming with obs my green screen set up comes in couple weeks and iam looking forward to purchasing the complete programme and changing the look and feel to my djs live Facebook sets.

This brings exactly what I invision and I haven't found another programme that can do this as simply as synesthesia I want visually reactive back grounds to my live set using a green screen and also to incorporate the logo of whatever dj is live, looks like you guys have made it into my head and gave me exactly what my complicated ambition wants with just simple clicks of the mouse thanks 🤜❤️🤛

I have just downloaded the trial version with a view to buying. On first trial it appears that audio cannot be tested as explained in the video. When I try to change audio input in settings the audio section stays with a red border...

so spout is for windows? do I need to dl syphon for Mac to do this same thing on obs?

I can't get the spout option to pop up on obs. need help pls

sort of, you won't get the full crisp depth you want on an intel HD4000 that's for sure. You won't be able to render a lot of scenes on anything less. Had to pull out winamp. But I think this may work with the exception of losing quality, depending on output, my projector from 2003 gets very hot but having the option of manually zooming you can trick it i think. If you don't care about either in a massive setting you could VM it. If your GPU can't handle it, you'll know.

hey there im having issues with the obs part for some reason i dont see synesthesia on the spout senders? i have stream mix on and spout live sources output on but i dont see the option for it in obs spout sender

Unlikely unless you have something powerful. I just tried to run OBS and Synesthesia on the same system and it's not usable as fps is below 30. I have a fairly quick Intel i7

@Synesthesia Live I've been looking for a decent music visualizer for a long time but gave up because I couldn't find anything. Back in the day I used to love to use the V-CD Player on Demo One on the orininal Playstation One for that 3D music visualiser when you put in a music CD. I only need something for the home to put on my TV or monitor whilst listening to music mp3's from my PC. I noticed in this video it says for the setup you need to have your sound set to Speakers but when I do that I get no sound through my external speakers connected to my PC, I have to select VG27A (2- NVIDEA High Definition Audio) to hear the music or any sound. So would this software work with my setup?

I am facing an issue, I can't limit the framerate or at 144 FPS when V-SYNC is enabled, so I tried to set a monitor at 60Hz and define it as monitor used by synesthesia, but it works only in the case where I put the program in full screen it's not really convenient, do you know what can I do to solve that? I also have another issue, synesthesia dosen't seem to save our audio device choice, we need to reselect it each time we launch the program it's really annoying

I use Voicemeeter Potato to route all of my audio separately so all of my audio bypasses Stereo Mix, is there any way to rectify this?

Just use Voicemeeter as your audio input source in Synesthesia, that's how I route my setup.

keeps crashing. Maybe my graphics cards isn't powerful enough?

BUMMER! The link to the Spout2source plugin seems to be for windows only.. I'm on Mac, is there another solution? I'm new to OBS so maybe I'm just missing something, not sure.

If you're on mac you'd need to find an equivalent plugin, Spout definitely won't work on Macs. Look for "Syphon". Syphon is the Mac equivalent of Spout. There aren't quite as many resources for it since these days most pro live graphics things happen on Windows, but there may be a 'Syphon2Source' or something along those lines. Worst case scenario, if your computer can handle it, you can try a normal Display or Window capture. Not ideal for the CPU/GPU tho, you'd need a pretty beastly computer to do that all at 60 FPS.

I’m on a Mac and my OBS has a spout choice. You can also use NDI. Hope that helps

You'd need to find something like "Syphon 2 Source". Syphon is the Mac equivalent of Spout, same in every way except it works on Mac instead of Windows. I don't think it's quite as easy to find or set up on Mac, as most things 'Pro Graphics' are a little harder these days on Macs, but it suspect with some digging and googling you could find a solution (github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/tree/master/plugins/mac-syphon) ?

cool and helpful but i have some issues. i do exactly what told, load the plug-in but when i open obs there is no synesthesia over obs scene. how can i get that

I suspect it may be my video card. But I have different levels of reaction depending on the audio source used.

@@se9252 Reactivity can definitely depend on the audio source. One way to help this is using a virtual audio cable, so you can control the volume of the input audio independently of the speaker output volume. Voicemeeter for Windows or SoundSiphon for Mac work well for this. Also, with a Synesthesia Pro license you can modify the audio reactivity and speed of any scene
