    It’s funny… I’ve heard all of these tips before. I’ve even read some of them directly. I might even have implemented a few of them, but the way you presented these as a group and with your specific examples and experience was so helpful! So happy that you’ve been able to discover all of this and thank you, thank you thank you for sharing it.

    i really hate thay bedrotting is becoming an Internet term, its really not what people online make it seem to be. I have a depressive disorder, and when I have episodes I bedrot pretty hard and its not just me not wanting to get out of bed... in my last episode i watched damn near every single episode of brooklyn 99 and rick and morty in a week. I didn't take a shower, or brush my teeth or hair then entire time, i physically could not bring myself to get out of bed longer than just heating up food in microwave, and even then, i only really ate once day. I literally felt like Gregor from the metamorphosis, its not the same as just laying in bed cus i dont have the energy to do my assignments. The Internet normalizing the missuse of the term bedrotting is similar to me as the Internet normalizing the term Intrusive thought being used interchangeably with the term Impulsive thought. I wish online culture qould move away from this, and start actually acknowledging the things about mental illness that can't be romanticized without trying to take away from the gross or disturbing parts from them.

    I kind of relate to this. These days I do stay in bed for extended periods, but manage to get out right before I'm late for important things, or to complete important tasks. But once in the past I had a really severe episode where I kept screaming at myself to get out of bed and I couldn't, I would literally cry myself to sleep and dread waking up the next morning knowing I wouldn't be able to do anything. I scheduled therapy sessions and would literally miss them, scheduled group studies as a kind of buddy system for staying accountable and would miss those too. I didn't realize these weren't all just varying levels of bed rot (and the creator of this video may not know this either, so definitely no hate to her). In a way though, I'm glad the concept was popularized, because I'm hearing more on how to tackle some instances of not wanting to do things. Of course, where it calls for it, medication is the best option lol, not everything is mild enough that it can be solved by watching a youtube video.

    loved this in bite sized bits! also just want to add that there are actually no “bad” foods. as someone who’s really struggled with disordered eating and seeing foods as “bad”, i think a healhier term is “less nutritionally dense”! :) just food for thought hehe 😊

    One tip that's worked for me (specifically, as someone with ADHD): Prep your meal components in advance and/or clean and cut up nourishing snacks like fruits and veggies when you bring your groceries home! It's SO much easier to grab a snack and go about your day, and it takes a lot of the mental energy and time out of the equation when you're making dinners (e.g., throwing together cooked proteins, veggies, and carbs and nuking them in the microwave versus having to make eeeeeverything from scratch).

    @@0wlyssa as someone with ADHD meal prepping is super helpful when I remember to do it 😅 I loved sharing how I try to do it with my own KZread channel, and as a college student it also save me a lot of extra time KZread has really kept me accountable to making sure I meal prep lately so it's been super fun and time saving

    Thank you for sharing these tips! I especially found super helpful the task stacking and having a second space! The task stacking i probably do already though i've never been conscious of it but i do not have another "space" other than my home (and my humble desk), i wonder if that's why i feel so drained sometime 😅

    Great video! For anyone interested reading about the “second space” mentioned, they’re more commonly called “third places” in sociology! Meaning a place of community and leisure away from 1st places (homes) and 2nd places (work)

    Location stacking was interesting to hear since I feel that moving to another location for something, even if it takes time to commute there, helps me to actually get out of bed and do it. Like I could study at home or the nearest library but commuting further away gives me motivation to study => I'm more productive when I travel.

  • @luciornelas4859

    @luciornelas4859

    Ай бұрын

    im the same way, but i think the location stacking idea is more about having multiple plans/ tasks in one day. so if i had plans to study & hang out with a friend but i know i want to study some place a bit further, i could ask my friend if they’d like to meet me in that city after so i don’t spend more time commuting back for our plans. that might be a poor example but i think it’s just about being more efficient w your time. since going out the way helps you be productive, you should continue to do so
