@@BanjoSkills , i remember it oh so well i been playin now for about a year and a half and i was strugglin so hard with them pull offs on Cluck o'l hen but i finally got it after a solid month of practice and now i can play it without even lookin at the fret board, that amazes me that my fingers know where to go with out even seeing the frets, i'm currently workin on East Virginia. Yes Cluck O'l Hen is a fun song to play. Thank You for all your lessons you post i am glad i found your channel . I been learnin from Wayne Erbsens banjo tab books....

First song I memorized for banjo was Friend of the Devil. And I hate tabs. I’d rather work up my own arrangements. The first song I learned from a tab was Livin’ in the Country, it was a guitar tab (remember Sing Out! the Folk Magazine?) but I ended up playing it on my kalimba or thumb piano.

@@BanjoSkills Honestly just my own hold ups I suppose. I don't know music theory and I get pretty frustrated with myself while tryin to learn my fretboard. I'm also struggling to learn drop thumb on top of everything else banjo I need to learn. Although I am progressing enough that my wife and friends say that I'm starting to sound good so I just need to relax and take my time. Maybe rewatch a few videos also lol.

@@UwUsectorDefender Sounds like you're getting there! Don't put too much pressure on to get all the techniques right away because even simple banjo sounds great!

If I can hear a recording of a song I find it much easier to memorize it. The problem is a lot of tabs you find for old time don't have a track available that matches.

Yeah that’s true. I usually try to provide both. Much easier to start with a good recording where everything is in tune!

Love your content but it is anoying AF when you keep switching views when you just talking into the microphone.. it is great that you have the different views but dude only use that when your playing or not shifting back and forth.... my 2 cents. and hopefully will help you make better videos.. other than that great content.
