THANKS so much. You have saved me. I have tried various options, nothing works, until I found your video.

While this method worked without a problem the first time i did it the second time i got an error saying "The maximum allowed number of re-arms has been exceeded. You must reinstall the OS again before trying to rearm again" I really hope this doesn't mean i have to reinstall Win7 again because it's kind of a pain.

followed the instruction step-by-step and worked! The only thing to add is when I had cmd opened, the directory was NOT at C:\Windows... it was in C:\Users. I changed it but for those of you doesn't know how just type "cd c:Windows\system32" enter, done.

It says access denied: the requested action requires elevated privileges and also it said C:\Users\PC1> instead of system 32 (Fix: Right tap and press run as administrator)

try to take the exact command and paste it in cmd "slmgr -rearm"

Guess most haven't found out that all the command does is extend the time Windows gives a user before requiring proper activation. This command can only be done a set number of times and you will be back to square one with Windows asking for activation again.

Its great, the warning in the bottom right corner went out but my windows still doesnt say it's activated when I see in my computters properties

I have a new install of Win 7 Home Premium and 'upgraded' to 'Ultimate'. (I typed in my product key when I did the new install.) I managed to delete the 'slui' file but the '30 days to activate Windows/ activate Windows now' message is still at the bottom of the 'Information about your computer' page. Am I going to have a problem in 30 days? Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to load all of my programs if there is going to be a problem.

Hey were you able to install windows 10 after trying this fix? i too want to upgrade but the installation failed and now my windows isn't genuine anymore and now need to make it genuine again to upgrade to win 10

after expiry date you have to do this

After pc restart, run cmd again and type ‘slmgr -ato’, hit enter...settled!!

The command line application had to be run as Administrator, then it worked for me. Also found a slui.exe file in the same directory which I also deleted using the same method.

This is absolutely the best way to activate Windows without a product key. This method works for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

worked for me thanks for people having issues open command prompt as admin right click open as admin then either type or like i did copy and paste slmgr -rearm press enter it will say completed will take effect after restart. they is also a software you can download called windows 7 loader that also works.

well, It seems to have gone through the steps smoothly however when looking under "System" under the control panel (after re-starting), it says I have 3 days for automatic activation, so I don't know if it works or not?

Yes. And then after 4-5 "rearms" like this with slui.exe deleted there is no possible to rearm one more time, so it's only one opportunity left to reinstall Windows or to find and download other slui file to change the activation key. Because this operation with rearm is temporary
