Neuro was actually a lot broader than I initially thought. Luckily Divine intervention podcast has an 8 episode series on this. After listening to his podcast I never missed a question on neuro ever. It even covers the pediatric neuro stuff!

Hey, thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad I (and the rest of this small community) could help you out! Exercise helps one study harder and more efficiently in my opinion as well, so it’s almost a study resource itself :)

Hey Adnan, I've been following you for a while. I'm finishing my BSN next year with a current goal of becoming a CRNA. The OR truly calls to me. That being said, I was premed before going to nursing school, and honestly every week think to myself if CRNA is something I will be happy doing, knowing that I didn't go to med school. Am I being silly? I won't have any extra prereqs, and would just have to take the MCAT. So, I guess, will I hate myself for not going to med school? Is med school not all it's cracked up to be after the grueling hours? I'm an insanely industrious person, but I definitely enjoy my free time (which is why I chose the CRNA route). Help!

Bellefeu Hey, thanks for the support! I would say to shadow CRNAs and different surgeons and talk to them to get a better sense of what it’s really like in each of their roles, the costs to get in (in regards to time, money, life sacrifices), and the payoff. It seems like you have some underlying thing pulling you towards being a doctor, but whether you’d be satisfied in another role in the OR besides the surgeon (maybe even assisting as a PA would scratch the OR itch for you but cost less, take less time to train, and would allow you to have more free time) or whether the overall cost/benefit proposition is worth it is difficult to say since I don’t know your situation well. Medical school is rough and I think a lot of med students go through periods or even years of regret (I know various doctors who still regret their career choices), but I also know doctors who made it out and ended up happy at the end of all the training and years/money/family events/etc they gave up. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, but I think it’s very individual and requires an in depth assessment of someone’s specific situation. However, I think exploring your options more thoroughly, as I said above, would help.

Bellefeu Lastly, I’d say if you do decide becoming a doctor is right for you, just make sure it’s something you’re super passionate about, or it may be difficult to persevere through everything and give your all day in and day out. There are people that regret not going to medical school, and there are people that regret doing so. Regret can happen in either case.
