    When you hook up the two step do you take the wire for the two step and a wire with twelve volts and just hook them up to a button? And when you do two step do you just hold it at full throttle?

  • @unclejacksyoutube6496

    @unclejacksyoutube6496

    Yep a hot wire to the 2 step wire. If you give 12v to the 2 step wire the rpms will not go over what you have them set to on the dials. And with a carb car I’d play with it first. Don’t full throttle it first time. If you full throttle it I’m sure it’s gonna make some bangs and pops.

    Hmmmmmm well a button would be simple but there is all kinds of options. Maybe the brake pedal switch? I know that is common with aod foxes but be careful bc the higher the rpm the more of a chance of breaking something.

    Ok so I looked it up and the petronix says a msd box isn’t recommended. Buuut plenty of people in the forums say they have been doing it for years and never had a problem. So personaly I’d say it’s safe. Keep in mind that the msd box is just amping the coil up. If you buy the box and follow the directions it should work. I’d recommend the 6al2 box bc it comes with the limiter and 2 step features built in. If you do it let me know how it goes👍🏼

    @@unclejacksyoutube6496 so I did a little bit of digging myself and here’s what I found So the ignition module I have is a ignitor 3, which is different that the 1 and 2 because I has a “box” built into it (ie it already has multi spark, rev limiter, ect) so if I put a box on top of that I’ll blow up the coil. So I might just see if I can graft in an mad 2 step module instead. Thanks for the help man I’ll keep you posted Btw my Instagram is 5.0stang_68

    Pretty sure you can’t use this or any box like the one shown here. I believe your gonna want something from n2mb. I’m not familiar with distributorless ignitions. I mean I know how they work but as far as modifying it I’m blank. But I know people use n2mb for newer stuff. Also may be able to tune in 2step. I know with a new edge v6 mustang (one coil for all cylinders) that’s what’s recommended. I hope you have good luck with it bc I know how hard it is to find stuff on this lol let me know if you do anything and it works👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Ok so that’s where it gets complicated. Maybe the 12v can come from your neutral safety switch or a button on top of the shift knob. Or on your steering wheel. You give the blue wire 12v any way that works for you and gets you there the fastest if that’s your goal.

    The popping and flames are from late combustion when the exhaust valve is open. Rev limiters cut/retard the ignition to control the RPM but they do not cut the fuel. Combustion happens just before the piston reaches the top of the cylinder when your timing is advanced using the explosion to push the piston down the cylinder. When the box retards the timing the combustion happens after the piston is already on its way down and instead pushing the explosion out an open exhaust valve. Hence the popping and flames out the exhaust pipe. Anti-lag adds more fuel to increase combustion in the exhaust to keep a Turbo Charger spooled so there will always be boost on tap. But that's another story .

  • @unclejacksyoutube6496

    @unclejacksyoutube6496

    3 жыл бұрын

    Timing is a lot of it but how hot the tubes are and what size tubes in the exhaust is another big factor on a flame making a actual flame.
