    Ive been told that because of beans ability as a nitrogen fixing plant, if you grow lots of them, you should grind the dead plants at the end of the season and use them as mulch as this will maximize the amount of nutrients going back into the soil. I try to mulch most of my garden plants but am making note to always mulch my bean and pea waste.

  • @TheUrbanHarvest

    @TheUrbanHarvest

    3 жыл бұрын

    You can turn them into the soil to decompose, use the matter as mulch if it didnt have pests or disease by the end of the season, or compost it. Just cutting the plants off at the soil line will also allow the roots to release stored nitrogen into the soil.

    You can also put small animal traps as well. Free meat to go with your vegetables. Use a non-lethal cage style trap if you have neighbor pets like cats roaming in your area. Although if you have cats in your area, I find the probability of wild animals getting into your garden low.

    Not really as far as the bacteria is concerned. The bacteria is always around just in small numbers, the booster or inoculant is basically like a slam dunk that floods the soil with them. You can still get production without, it just greatly increases it.

I've been trying to squash them with my fingers as well as remove leaves that look like a highway cluster. I've been spraying with peppermint neem oil as well every 5-7 days. Is there anything else I can do? Am I doing something wrong?

    Korean farming method doesn't work in most of the world because you need to have a large amount of seafood waste, and you can't live in an area with a large amount of wild predators. Lots of home gardening methods won't work for large scale farming. Also oil is actually really cheap (government regulations on its sale is the sole reason it costs so much) and the waste products provide massive amounts of fertilizer that professional farming eliminates the need for collecting large amounts of organic waste and composting it outside of chop and drop.
