America pays its employees more than every single other country of similar size. Closest comparison is Germany which has an average income nearly 20000 dollars per year less, and the American worker keeps significantly more of their check due to tax rate comparisons. Regarding the mythical misunderstanding over the fifty thousand dollar promise, Tesla blames "The Manager" not Edison. If Tesla was the genius that every one says he is, would he seriously expect a $50,000 bonus for completing a project, when he was making an $18 per week salary. It was a matter of pride for Tesla, not money. These are Tesla's words regarding his meeting with Edison from his autobiography: "The meeting with Edison was a memorable event in my life. I was amazed at this wonderful man who, without early advantages and scientific training, had accomplished so much." Tesla came to America, in search of his hero, Thomas Edison. When Tesla realized he was wasting his time selling his ideas to a stubborn man who did not want to hear them, Tesla felt rejected moved on. Reference: My Inventions, by Nikola Tesla - First published in 1919 in the Electrical Experimenter magazine.

You don’t really probably don’t understand stand the magic of Alternating Current. From the power plant to your house whenever the voltage goes into a transformer the wires are never actually touching. They’re just wrapped around each other one has 100 wraps around a coil and the other one that’s feeding your house has 50 wraps. It’s a loose concept, but when it has 100 wraps going to 50 wraps, the 50 wraps is a step down in a voltage to become usable by household items but the wires wrapped around each other are not actually touching so the wire comes into the transformer and there’s another wire that it wraps around and the wires are both insulated they’re touching but there’s not any physical touching going on just through insulation and insulation keeps electricity from escaping out but what the cool part is is energy specifically was alternating current is electrons moving back-and-forth like if you were to rub your arm back-and-forth we create a certain type of heat and heat is a form of energy, but the conservation of energy is one of many radio or radiation, heat light noise, and and electrons moving back-and-forth created type of radiation or electromagnet activity that moves the electrons in the copper that it is wrapped around so it’s magnetism that causes a movement in the wire next to it so they’re not touching, but the energy that an electron gives off when it’s moving back-and-forth creates enough radioactive energy or magnetism in the wire that’s close to it that it moves. The wires neighboring it to move back-and-forth which is crazy to think that the wire from the substation to your house is never actually touching each other, but it uses the phenomenon of electronsto electrons in the coil wrapped around it

Nice story, but it's probably not true. Tesla writes that the manager of the company promised him $50,000, the manager of the company was Charles Batchlor, the man who wrote the letter of introduction and the manager of Edison Electric. Offering cash incentives was not how Edison motivated his inventors. He gave patent credit. $50,000 is equivalent of $2,000,000 today, an astronomical sum. Most historians agree that the wager was either a misunderstanding of Tesla's or simply wasn't true.

Simply NOT TRUE!! Tesla wrote an autobiography. Here's the passage: “During this period I designed twenty-four different types of standard machines with short cores and of uniform pattern which replaced the old ones. The Manager had promised me fifty thousand dollars on the completion of this task but it turned out to be a practical joke. This gave me a painful shock and I resigned my position." The manager, not the boss. Besides $50k in 1880s would be $1 Billion in Biden's economy.

This is an urban myth. The only historical source for anything remotely close to this story is one from Tesla's autobiography, and he never sames the guy who did it, just called him "a manager." He also absolutely gushed over. Edison in the same chapter, so its unlike that edison was involved.

He did. He very literally did. Well, HE didnt win, but the side he was on did. JP Morgan eventually got fed up with Edisons AC superstition, booted him from GE, and started using AC.

More importantly when Tesla beat eddison in the war he also beat eddison's financial backers. And it would be one of these guys that would finally trick and defeat Tesla. His name was jp morgan.

JP Morgan took Edison's company out from under him. He also funded Tesla's research years after.

A big edison fan, that guy. Edisn bought his patent and gave him a high paying job in addition! He was actually at Edison's company longer than Edison himself was, before leaving to start his own consulting business.
