i've been looking for a controller for rhythm games like project diva, where the separate directional buttons are actually really helpful, since they're pretty much just used as a second set of abxy in that game. this is perfect for that!

oh, hey. a fellow project diva player. may i ask if you ended up getting this controller? i had the same idea, but i’m wondering how having the L, L2, R, and R2 on the front feels when you’re trying to press the buttons you mapped there fast :)

@@makawoni sorry, i never did get it in the end, so i couldnt say. if i ever do get it, ill be sure to come back here and let you know! in the meantime, i think i have seen some fighting game controllers with the l/r buttons laid out like that, so maybe you could look into that? that said, given the main use for remapping buttons there is for using other fingers besides your thumb, so i could see that being a potential issue depending on how you use it. itd definitely be something to get used to at least, imo

ty for the advice! didn’t think of looking at fighting controllers. if you do ever pick up a small controller, the ones by pb tails also look interesting. they’re not made for limited mobility, and their warranty doesn’t look as good as 8bitdo’s. but if you see one on sale and have the budget, it might be worth a try for that specific niche 🤷‍♀️.

I've got the same illness as the kid this was made for. This would have been great at his age, but at 27 getting my hands to do anything together is difficult. I've thought about this a lot and I think the real key is a decent customisable touch screen or 2. There's one available on mobile but it's really difficult to set up configurations

Theres a friend of mine that uses actual numpads for all of his gaming due to hand issues, anything can have a workaround now via programming, its so nice to see more acessibility for gaming.

it is like a mini fight stick but they should have a tall stick since it is made to be used on a tabletop

This might be the very first controller That was meant for people with limited mobility that really impressed me. That's for saying there wasn't other impressive controllers in the past. But the playstation and the xbox never came With a control that was meant for people with limited mobility That had all functionality already on the controller The only thing missing is probably motion controls.

I'd buy this in an instant if they made a version without the rubber back, dpad and triggers. Great device for people with accessibility issues
