Good on the smart girl to trap the scammer - I hope the police catch more of these scammers and take their time in showing them what pain is all about. Scammers are the low life of Earth who prey on vulnerable victims and rob them of their precious belongings.

It's not practically possible police don't take action so quickly like this instead of they will give you advice not to share your personal information in the current time.

It speards awareness in people Once I got an call from a scammer saying that he is from kbc he was actually from Pakistan saying he's in India Kolkata. he said if I gave 25,000 he will give back 25 lakh I knew it was a scam so I just rejected he was making a fool of me. He also said that I lost an great 'luck' that I would be rich and get to meet Amitabh Bachchan etc. -_-

No Bro. It Takes 3 Mins of Continued Call to get it traced. Once the location is traced,it take 20-40 mins to take action against scammer. Also once scammer identity is known they can tap/trace it anyway.

Same happened with me but police didn't help me. I informed the police by writting an email assuming it as my FIR. I got call from nearest police station but he didn't took any action. I got call from cyber cell also but they discouraged me and advised to take back my complaint. I refused. Then the person who called me again called me after 2/3 days to again take back the complaint by saying that my bank account is safe then why I am doing like this. Then he pressurised me to come in police station with a male member of my family. I refused and said when I did complaint then why my family members are being involved. However, he pressurised me a lot and I have to take back my complaint in writting. Police don't help. Be Alert on your own.
