This man picked Aston Villa as the most impressive team when they were bottom of the league and just got trashed 5-1 by Newcastle. Everyone laughed at him, but by last week all detractors went missing as Aston Villa clinched Top 4 in style beating Arsenal twice convincingly. SAF is special. ❤

As an Aberdeen fan, SAF is nothing less than the best manager of all time. If I was a fan of an English club other than Man United, I'm sure I'd have hated him as much as the rest of England - but its impossible not to acknowledge just how influential he was to the clubs he managed. Best manager of all time.

People talk about Pep [and Man City] and to be fair, they deserve the plaudits. But what Sir Alex achieved both at Aberdeen and Man Utd is simply staggering and will never be equalled, let alone surpassed. Sir Alex Ferguson - the greatest football manager ever.

@KWin-nv6vp SAF won 13, Pep won 3 Bundesliga, 3 La Liga and 6 EPL. Pep won a back to back title. Two 3 peats and a 4-peat. Pep SPANKED your romanticized manager in 2 UCLs. Remember that? Pep's 2 first UCL? He DESTROYED Alex Ferguson's teams. You talk about longevity as if it's actually impressive. That's fucking stupid. You know what's impressive? Being the only manager ever to win the English 4 peat, the only manager ever to win 2 trebles, being the only manager to win 3 in a row in 3 different top leagues and being the manager who turned the Bundesliga from the most competitive top 5 league into a farmers league. But I recon you didn't even know that about the Bundesliga cause you act like an actual child who knows jack all about Fergie or Pep.

Imagine this. 128 seasons in Scottish Premiership Only 19 times were the champions not Rangers or Celtic Aberdeen only won it 4 times and Alex Ferguson is responsible for 3 of those League titles. He also won 2 European titles for them, those were the only times Aberdeen won anything in Europe throughout 121 years history. Ferguson is truly amazing! Pep won with the biggest clubs in the world. Ferguson didn't only win for Man Utd. He won with an Aberdeen side who has barely won anything in their history. In the 7 years he was at Aberdeen, he won 10 trophies. And 38 years after he left, Aberdeen only added 4 more trophies to its cabinet. Wow

Will always be considered the greatest manager of all time and I can't see it changing. Some people falsely say Pep but he took over a Barcelona side with Messi and best players in the world players that were brought up on Cruyff's style and also doped up we know now against us in the finals, then the same with Bayern but he pretty much failed there and at Man city cheating once again even though they were already a winning club with the best players in the world, he has players that can play any position, I believe any decent football fan can do the same things Pep do and until he takes a mid table club like Ferguson did with Aberdeen and Manchester United he will never be compared to Ferguson apart from by young highlight watching stat obsessed social media following football fans but any real supporter who understands the difference in the work they had to put in will know. Ferguson managed and looked after the whole club, had to look after every player, tactics and coaching though he delegated last ten years, and keot every player motivated. All Pep does is say go play good and doesn't even have to man manage as he has so many players and can just sell and buy a player who is unhappy and his whole style is based on Cryuffs and its still not as exciting as Fergusons style of direct attacking, always passing forward, wingers, crossing, aggressive, risky, and never giving in and the way adapted over the years and changed his team is what makes him the best just look at Klopp he couldnt do it or handle it on the pitch or off it and he hardly won anything and if United manager would be considered a failure! Also premiership teams don't bother trying against Man City and just write the game off and get rest but in Europe teams do so City fail there. By far the greatest manager of all time

I liked his man to man coaching and his authority over the squad as a manager. But his dominance in premier league didn't do anything much for english football. There wasn't much competition for him and United. Liverpool wasn't that consistent in league. Arsenal was the only competitive club and after 2004 Chelsea came into scene. But I always felt ever since klopp and pep came to premier league they raised the quality of football in English more manager with good tactical knowledge started to take over as English club coaches. For unai emery as Aston villa and de zerbi for Brighton some examples

Zero ball knowledge. Literally everything Pep is doing right now at City is a leaf out of Sir Alex’s book. That’s why Pep has hired Brian Kidd (Fergie’s right hand man) as part of his backroom staff at City. The idea of having 2 world class players in each position for rotation to being flexible in game with multiple tactics - it was all being done by Sir Alex before. Also the competition during Sir Alex’s era was the toughest (way tougher than what Pep and Klopp face right now). Between 2005-2009 for five years in a row an English club reached the UCL final whilst battling it out for the Premier League. Today City’s closed competition was a Europa League level Arteta and a tight budget Liverpool.

Guardiola couldnt even beat ten hag in a final. Grow up and show some respect, badmouthing him over 2 games. Pep's Barca team he did it with was inherited from Rijkaard and were already great before Pep arrived, that team also won the world cup and Euro's for Spain, and that was the same team without Messi/Eto'o, stacked squad..everywhere Pep has gone he inherits good players, Sir Alex had no one at Aberdeen and early Man Utd teams. He built them into a dynasty over 6 years..from 19th position in league to dominating the Premier League for 20 years.

I've been a United supporter for nearly 40 years, over the years I've slowly removed my rose tinted glasses. When Ferguson took over from Big Ron, whose record at United was actually impressive, Liverpool were simply unstoppable. Had English clubs not been banned from Europe, they would have won more European Cups. Ferguson was bought in to knock Liverpool off their perch, to achieve that he had to wait until Liverpool imploded, it took 6 years. The reason why United became so successful was the creation of the Premier League, they became the richest club, they broke the transfer record on numerous occasions. The competition was weak in the early days of the Premiership, when competition arrived United struggled, Blackburn matched them financially and went onto win the league, Arsenal hired Wenger and United struggled against them, Mourinho at Chelsea, once again serious competition that United struggled against. Ferguson knew the writing was on the wall with Man City matching them financially, he knew he wouldn't be able to compete with Pep and Klopp. He left the team in a complete mess for when Moyes took over, and knew full well that he would struggle. As for his European record, he won 2 European Cups which is the same as Brian Clough. Only difference is Clough did it with Nottingham Forest. That's why for me Brian Clough is the greatest manager that has managed in this country.

Back then, you had Inter/Juventus/Barcelona/Bayern Munich/Real Madrid/Valencia/Deportivo/A.C Milan/PSV/ Lyon ALL fantastic squads regularly making the late stages of the Champions League. And if it wasn't for running into the greatest team ever in Barcelona, easily could have had four. He also won five F.A Cups - so no idea what the fuck you're talking about. Must have been truly great to win a competition he 'didn't play for' five times.

Alex ferguson was a joke of a manager, that should of been sacked by man utd in 1990, for being a total disaster He only started winning due to non lethal weapons he got hold off around then Microwaving the away dressing room at old trafford is not a thing that can be done in isolation anymore. Non lethal weapons use in sports is not a secret anymore, and it was the main reason for what alex ferguson did at man utd.
