The fact that tenmille recently upgraded their online website to make it more accessible will hopefully mean that many modelers in the fandom will be able to make great replicas of all this great rolling stock. Really looking forward to seeing people take advantage of that

The one with the triangle shaped laughing mouth? :) that one used to freak me out as a small baby because we had a shed that looked just like it minus the face....but as I grew older I think he's got a really neat and unique design. Yeah must've been the joke of the year 😄

I agree that rolling stock makes it seem more real. The classic series has them actually pulling trains, whereas in the hit era most of the time there's not much rolling stock present in the background, where most locomotives just run as light engines
I remember as a kid that all my favourite episodes revolved around the Troublesome Trucks (Toad Stands by, Oliver Owns Up, Trucks and afew others). So glad to see these guys get the spotlight.
Now this could definitely help me in possibly making my own gauge 1 rolling stock :)
6:43: I always knew something was off about those vans as a kid, now I know why! So the modelers at Clearwater made the same mistake back in the day as the animators/modelers from ARC/Jam Filled did with the narrow gauge slate trucks; they resized them to standard gauge in the most off-putting ways imaginable!
When you see a angry truck, trouble isn't far behind it! In all seriousness, great video and very nice to Finally see the wagons history
I never get tired of Him saying "They were sculpted in clay and then resin cast using a silicone mould." I dunno why.
Trucks puh, they are essential but rather troublesome. I enjoyed this one as it features the things that take up at least 70% of the screen in the yards, on good trains shots, or what have you. Keep puffing trainboy 👍
I absolutely LOVE the troublesome trucks! Especially the van ones, they’re my favourite type of rolling stock 😎
George Carlin shouting "On! On! On!" In the original US dub is a core memory for me.
The History of series is probably your best content. More, pls.
They actually look so realistic, that when I made a video the other week which needed a scene with trucks rolling down a hill (It was a video about the 1965 Coton Hill Rail Crash) I used a S1 pic from Thomas's Train, but trimmed the image to just show the wagons
I’m really happy for this. I was waiting for the rolling stock video.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about brake vans/cabooses. I believe the last time a Lynton and Barnstable van appeared was Gordon Takes a Tumble - when Gordon falls off the rails (but someone made a mistake because the van replaced either an LBSCR truck or GWR van). These vans appeared in Something in the Air and Toby's Discovery too.
The CCT vans are my favorite rolling stock ever, and it's because of what it took me to find kits of them as well as the research I had to do to learn about the mail coaches and how they were made, which I believe is where I found that connection. I have sinced collected and repaired some of them I had bought through ebay or model shows, and I have some painted kits (still unfinished after I moved onto Lego) that I was intending to fit with bogies. You are right, Thomas has many iconic things that make it stand out and rolling stock is one of them, it's something I've personally taken note of and is something I miss from the model era, though the CGI era would try to make new ones and even listened to my suggestion to bring back troublesome trucks on other wagons other than 7-planks.
Toad stands by is the ultimate episode for wagons
I have been waiting for this one.
I really adore how the troublesome truck faces look at 2:35. Really awesome shit. I would also really love to have those faces as souvenirs. Just another identical copies of those faces from where they're made from because i love them and they're awesome.
As a local to the area, the pronunciation is more like 'barns-stupple'. Great to have another episode in this series!
Grew up watching the classic series and never realized this thanks for upload
I'd be a millionaire if I had a dollar everytime trainboy says "Resin mold"
I miss the history of videos! Thank you for posting these.
Would love to see how they built the model trucks that had to be crushed and splinter in wrecks they have to be different because you can see individual boards when they break

Those look like they were made from thin plywood or pine stripwood, which was pre broken and loosely reassembled for the crash scene.

Interestingly, the biggest giveaway, at least some of the time (and for the brake vans), is the way the whees are glued to the underside - kind of hard to describe, but I definitely noticed that they are not attacked to bogies (or at least appear to nto be) - for example, the brake van at the end of "Break Van," or the ones in Flying Kipper, and Percy's Predicament.
What kind of engineer on Sodor thought giving Trucks a face was a good idea? 😅

It's cuz they came in contact with the "magic coal" that's one theory......but it doesn't make sense because if that was the case it doesn't explain the diesels......Idk I always wondered as a kid why the breakdown train wasn't sentient but the other trucks and cranes were.....I guess they were just never 100% consistent with it 🤷♂️

I’d love to see more of The History Of TTTE videos. I want to see one on Molly, Mighty Mac, Fearless Freddie, Dennis, Neville, Rocky, Salty, Harvey, Elizabeth, Whiff, George, Henrietta, Caroline, etc.
I live right around the corner from the lynton and Barnstaple railway it's a really cool preserved railway and I've seen both of those wagons frequently
The episode I've been waiting for
I've been waiting for this for soooooo long
I never realised that only one Sodor Fuel tanker was ever made. Now whenever I see it on re-runs, it almost feels special.
Happy that this is back
Yay I have been waiting for you to talk about the troublesome trucks
3:41 Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Harvey is preserved at Drayton Manor. Even though he is hard to see, he is one of the Unique NWR Engines.

Awesome video trainboy
Epic video, love it!
I've been waiting for this
Finally this comes out and very interesting
I've been waiting for this the moment i watched the first episode of this series
The series is finally back
3:52 I know at one point Henry required that special "Welsh Coal" to keep him running well. I wonder which Diesel requires that Kosher fuel there, I guess if your really wanted to know you could look and see who's rear coupler is circumcised...
I think with this guide, it can help me with the Trucks and Vans and other Rolling stock modeliing lol
Love your videos
great video keep the great work season 1 troublesome trucks was in season 2 early part
This was one of your better videos. If I can ever figure it out, I plan on getting some of these and making an "army" of troublesome truck's. XD Were these Kitts always made out of wood?
It is also worth mentioning another way to mention the bigger van that was made to run on narrow track, but it’s on Oak track. It’s that it’s fat but well, I’m not calling it fat but that’s the way. I know if I do a run or something.
The railing over the face, isn't a railing. That's a hinge. These trucks were designed to end dump. There were some dumpers built that made use of this feature. Since these models were large enough, it made sense to include the ability to actually dump loads like coal out of them, if the modeler had gone to the trouble of modeling one of those systems.
I’ve always considered myself an Awdry purist, but rolling stock is one of the few things from the TVS that I actually prefer over the RWS
Wow 😯 awesome!! 😎
Can you make a video on the history of Derek and his models
Super video 🤩🥳👍👍
I see the breakdown train is at Drayton manor as well. I'd love to see an episode dedicated to the breakdown train, its my favorite rolling stock.... is it considered rolling stock ? I want to make an HO sale version for my collection one day.

Judy and Jerome were in the CGI series
These videos are very interesting, if you didn't tell me that tenmille made the rolling stick then I would've never known that.
Could there be a video of this series with new facts about the props that were;’t shared before? Like Murdoch and Spencer NOT sharing their closeup models (They share their cab controls), and the China Clay twin chassis swap
Your video has provided some great research material Im going to reproduce the troublesome trucks and sell them as part of my Thomas the tank engine line
Love the history stuff do morw
Yo, how do you have 51K subscribers? Congratulations!
I did remember that one of the open china clay wagons was on display at a event at Midland Railway in 2019
Awesome.
I saw this video and I'm like he finally did it the sum bitch made the troublesome truck history of video halaloya but seriously thankyou this is one I was wanting for awhile well done
YES
Don't forget about the CGI troublesome Trucks from Season 13 to Season 24.
I know this isn’t about the video but can you make a video of your updated capsule plarail collection it’s been a while sense a capsule plarail video has come out
I think we need a video of the other coaches on the island other than Thomas’s coaches
I like the L and B open wagons.
Ok I know you say this is like the last time, but, you got to do the coaches and break vans now.
Glad we've finally got a video on the rolling stock, but for you Americans its Barn-stu (as in stutter) bl. To be honest I'd say just put it into google translate and switch it to English instead of American English
Trainboy, I'm working on making my Bachmann Thomas TVs Accurate do you have any tips on the faces?
That truck’s pupil’s coming off at 1:12!
Whenever someone mentions the Troublesome Trucks, I can only think of Academic Agent’s Thomas the Tank Engine Kali Yuga video.
Very kool ❤️🚂😎👍
I like the trucks faces 😊
Hey train boy This is a question unrelated to the video and I apologize I’m writing it here so u see. I would comment on one of your model vids. I have a Hornby A4 right. I was wondering what spray product do you use on your models for a Matte finish?
I never knew there was only 1 sodor fuel tanker car. My personal favorite cars were the salt cars.
Next train: fan favorite
I love the faces at 2:35. Really cool stuff. Also, i have a question. Does anyone know who created those faces? Because i want to have those exact faces myself as souvenirs and i also love those faces. If anyone can tell me, i appreciated it.
One detail I would have liked to have known was who sings the background pitched-up part of troublesome trucks' songs and laughter?
Do other non faceless coaches next. 😊 How did you react to The Chilling cutting?
Oh cool
Yay
Will there be more of this series, or is this the final episode?
I was really hoping for a history of harold model
Salt vans and ner vans and cattle car and lms vans make a good look for goods trains
Season 1 Is the Best troublesometrucks
What was the deal with the railing on the 7-planks from season 1 anyway? Did the prototype for the kit have removable/droppable ends or something like that?
@MrJoeyWheeler
2 жыл бұрын
Most likely, it was to support tarpaulins. And indeed across season 1 we actually have a lot of tarpaulin use on the 7-planks. Season 2 onwards tends to use mostly open loads,
i hope those trucks are causing trouble at drayton manor. although they are not an engines friend “they can sometimes do you a favor, like getting rid of a smelly old diesel”
Good
Can you do one about coaches
I might be wrong but I think in the episode pop goes diesel? idk cuz I'm italian but the episode where duck makes diesel pull the wrong old trucks, those trucks were different from all of the others in this video, they were kinda flat but idk, let me know if i'm wrong!
Forgive me, Thomas gods, but I have an unpopular take: I prefer the LBSCR & L&B covered vans over the open trucks
can't believe there was no cattle truck love...
I like your new profile picture
NOTED
Are you gonna start talking about break vans next. Or passenger cars.
The Troublesome Trucks are the best characters in the show. Easiest click of my life. The really tricky part is finding HO/OO rolling stock that looks appropriately like the different types of rolling stock that appear in the show. Also, I noticed not all types of wagons that appear as troublesome trucks in the show are mentioned here, such as a couple different types of ventilated vans.
