They also more than likely ran many inputs into the AI and stiched them together. Rather than just one take. Re-recording parts with artifacts and run back through rinse and repeat until it sounds 'humanish'.

Cool breakdown, although one important important sticking point to note is that it's not actually illegal. At least not at time of writing. At last check, using songs (even under copyright) to train an AI model is, under current US law, still considered a transformative process creating an entirely new item (the AI model). On the other hand, the creations of these models are currently unable to be protected by copyright (although, in something like this where significant human effort was still present, the song as a whole could likely still gain copyright protection). The only time legality comes into play is if the final song is passed-off as a creation of the original author, in which case this would constitute forgery (or the musical equivalent). That, or maybe personality rights, where the voice is used to defame the original singer or in some way manipulate or harm their public image. 🤔

Great! I do think the vocals in original are a bit more smoother. It´s scary that it sounded so natural there. You can maybe hear it´s AI, but it´s getting better and better.

I think the best it can offer for the forseeable is making already talented producers faster. We've seen it help the mastering process mostly so far (imo). the robots got nothin on your soul brodie!

Good question! Deliberately didn’t add a filter to the piano when the 808 comes in as I could see the low end was playing at that point. Wouldn’t normally do this if I wanted the mix to be as clean as possible but it’s not necessarily always a bad thing to have some minor clashing if you want more of a gritty final mix.

Id be impressed if he nailed it. A lot of these mainstream rap cuts aren’t doing anything crazy in the production or mix so it’s easier to analyze what’s happening.
