I miss this plane(even tho I never knew it when it was still flying), we need it back. And if I remember it right then I am pretty sure that the nose is only down for landing BC it reduced performance so for takeoff it was up but without visor.

I absolutely agree! The majesty & awe of Concorde will never be surpassed, ever. Years ago, before the fatal accident of Concorde, my family & I were at the Legoland Theme Park in Windsor when Concorde flew over. The entire park just looked up, in absolute awe at the sound & majesty of Concorde. It was an unforgettable experience. Something which remains with me all these years later. It truly was an end of an era when Concorde was taken out of service. How technologically ahead of its time it was, especially when you realise that commercial supersonic travel is unlikely to be repeated.

@@misiosz1983Here are some reasons for why your point are invalid. • It was a singular crash out of the 50,000 flights that BAC/British Airways and Air France had made • The crash was predominantly caused by another plane (A Continental Airlines DC-10 that had left a strip of metal on the runway) and NOT the Concorde itself. • The fact he mentioned Bristol may heavily imply that he took a British Airways and not an Air France which was the one that crashed as a strip of metal was left in the Charles de Gaulle Airport • Concorde was retired in 2003 which meant that you could only fly it 20 years ago or longer meaning that he had the privilege to fly it. • Tickets would go up to £12,000 which would make flying on such a marvel in engineering history an honour.

In 1984, while waiting on the runway for take off, I had the opportunity to be parallel to a concord flight who had the right of way to take off. The vibration from the engines shook my plane so much, it felt like an earthquake. For take off, It didn't run forward. It literally lifted its front & took off like it was a bird. There was so much pressure during its take-off that my ears popped. A visual I will never forget.

Ah. This makes me emotional. My grandpa worked on the concorde. He had plans of the plane and was on the crashing point. I have Mock-ups of the plane. Im crying right now. Rest in peace grandpa 🕊️

The straight nose was really a key factor during supersonic speeds. It was a visor that would mainly resist hot temperatures during supersonic flight.

As a aviation Ethausiast this is actually true but the concorde needed more runway because it used delta wings delta wings needed more speed to create lift and they mostly put the nose down during taxing to the runway and taking off and landing but the landing gears on the concorde had a problem so the engineers had a problem with that and then in 2003 it got retired
