Elaboration on the Homer Simpson comment: McPig, creator of Pizza Tower, streamed a DOOM mod called "Bring Your Own Class" which contains many characters including Pizza Tower. Him and many others played another mod within BYOC called Ancient Aliens. At the end of it, they had a difficult challenge. Suddenly, a person joined as Homer Simpson which caused them to win and eventually that day we got The Noise Update.

ok if you didn't know, the reason he said homer simpson saved the update was because Mcpig and his friends were playing a very difficult doom mod and would not release the noise update until they won. They were having trouble towards the end and called in someone using a homer simpson character for backup, they eventually won with his help, which is why he saved the update. TLDR: mcpig and friends were playing doom mod and would release noise if they won, they got someone as homer simpson to help win it.

The thing about Bloodsauce Dungeon was that doing minor manipulations to your actions as Peppino was no longer enough to get a P Rank. The "Twisty Tunnel" room was built to maximize running up a wall, jumping off it, and diving into a crevice before doing it all over again... _but Noise doesn't run up walls._ I had to lean heavily into Super Jumps to get through, and the time those take are enough for Pizzaface to actually be a threat! But I pulled it off, and am now 9 levels (and 3 bosses) through a full P Rank run! Finishing with Pizzaface onscreen even gave me an outfit, because Noise has his own separate set of outfits and unlock conditions for them (he shares the Halloween suits though).

I have perfected Blood sauce to the point where I can Lap 3 it, it comes down to changing how you play. like super jumping in the dark areas to avoid running into pizza face, and save time. making long overhead jumps to escape a lancer that can easily knock you into pizza face. it's all about perfecting peppinos moveset to micromanage time

@@fuzzybuzzy3159 Same if you finish the game with a faster time than the equivalent Peppino file (guess all those replays of Secrets of the World and the Halloween level weren't just for fun).

hearing that you thought crust cove was worse as the noise is interesting to me cuz personally i found it to be a blast to play through as the noise. at the same time though i still think it's slightly better as peppino, it takes a lot more effort if you want to run through it as the noise in a way that feels satisfying and you really gotta experiment with some areas (sidenote but honestly that might be my favorite part of playing through levels as the noise, experimentation. he has so many different options for tackling certain environments compared to peppino and it's SUPER fun to try and figure out what the fastest possible way of moving through a certain section is. im excited to see whatever discussions about that crop up once people start trying to speedrun as the noise)

My advice is not to use the spin to break any ice blocks until after you activate Pizza Time. Makes it MUCH less confusing.

By watching (almost) all streams about this update i though you said it all but this video is still so cool to see and hear about your full experience, glad i was there and here to see the great content you made

I feel like in this update each character gives different control in a good way. *Peppino* has a lot more things to do with his moveset which can take time to get used to for some extra speed *Noise* trades off Peppino's speed for better air control and movement, which when used correctly is extremely fun. They're both hand to hand on pros and cons to me.

no, the noise is much faster and harder to control. Peppino is ALOT easier to control, but getting hit is more punishing as Peppino as he is slower getting back to speed, where as The Noise can instantly go back into a mach dash

This is my first time seeing your channel as far as I remember, and I really enjoyed it! Your energy and genuine delight when talking about the game is so refreshing and I love it!

i was constantly surprised by how many things were changed while playing as noise. even things like the final boss theme were changed, it felt like they did almost everything you could even think to change and more.

this update great with how much detail it has and how greatly the team has been working on it i loved when the noise just yells at fake peppino when he catches him and when he just goes crazy in the final battle just chucking bombs like a mad man. that laugh just shows how crazy noise is. also bringing up mods putting in noise there are a few mods that are doing that for other characters as well. full course has showed off pepperman whats funny is that because of his size he just bursts through small spaces would have to normally crawl under. chefs kiss has been showing off vigilante who cant break metal blocks but instead has his dynamite and gun to make up for it and will not use many of the transformations like knight for ex, and has his own boss as well. there fake peppino mods too thats almost done and has the ability to turn off his ceiling running. also i love how you brought up the azu tower mod because that mod makes things even funnier with the art style and voices

I didn't know what was taking so long, since he was pretty much complete at release, aside from a few animations, but then the first trailer released.

One minor detail about The Noise that I think is really neat is how some of the unlock conditions for his costumes are inversions of Chef Tasks in the base game, like how you get the Forest Goblin costume by not harming any of the Noise Goblins, when a Chef Task required you to defeat one by countering it, or how there's a Chef Task in Oregano Desert for avoiding every cow, but you get a costume by getting kicked by ALL the cows!

In terms of comparing alternate playable characters, you forgot to bring up Plague Knight from Shovel Knight! That was the first thing my mind went to when Noise was added, as you go through the same levels with a wildly different and strange to use moveset. King Knight and Specter Knight also fit this, but their levels are altered to fit them specifically.

The Noise update was absolutely NUTS. Not only does The Noise's final moveset feel very fresh and just downright insane, but all the music made specifically for The Noise is absolutely superior to Peppino's in so many ways, and even got me back into Pizza Tower.

6:56 I think that's hot chocolate, but the Noise drinking gasoline is something he would do for the audience.

As a self proclaimed pizza tower video essay connoisseur, this is a good pizza tower video, thanks for making it

I'm loving playing for the third time with both characters. Once you master them, you get to use them where they are best at. In Bloodsauce Dungeon, I climbed down with Noise and after hitting the pillar, I switched to Peppino and fled really fast. In general, Peppino is faster because he can reach and maintain Mach 3 because he can climb walls and dive. The Noise is more agile because he has the down spin and can super jump at any time, not to mention the acrobactics he is capable of with his skateboard.

Noise would like to make a phone call, dare to answer?

im way too happy seeing someone else make a knuckles comparison because that was one of my first thoughts while getting used to the noise. personally i wasnt really all that excited by the update at first because id just gotten bored of pizza tower. but as i played as the noise more and more, the update really grew on me. his moveset, his tweaks to the gimmicks, and ESPECIALLY the music really made me appreciate the gameplay over time, and its really resparked my interest in pizza tower as a whole. 10/10 movie, with the noise taking all the credit of course.

Fantastic video as always. I have to agree that its very situational whether or not I think the Noise is better or worse than Peppino. Stages like Oh Shit and RRF are greatly improved imo but ones like Bloodsauce Dungeon and Crust Cove feel a bit harder probably due to muscle memory.

The Noise also has the ability to fly without the jetpack, by pressing up+jump while in mid-air to do the crusher jump (which is very similar to Gustavo's up+jump) and then cancelling it with a grab, which does the same cancel you get out of the rocket jump, then cancelling the grab with the crusher jump, and so on and so forth. This is actually faster than rocket jumping for going up walls that aren't too tall

Did you know that in swap mode you can play MULTIPLAYER WITH YOUR FRIEND IN PIZZA TOWER??????

My Personal Rating on The Noise would be "If Peppino acquired drugs" He is literally Peppino but faster and harder to control, once you get the hold of him you practically upgrade your skill ceiling to the newest level, allowing you to SPEEDBLITZ nearly all levels. (Expect War and Don't Make A Sound because the gun actually kind of screws up your speed) If you don't know how to use him, it'll take time. Practically starting a new page on learning Peppino but harder. By far my favorite mobility tools with The Noise are the Crusher Jump into Skateboard Spin to keep up the momentum, the fact that a single skateboard bounce off a wall can give you Mach 3, and the Tornado being so satisfying to use. My personal training for getting used to The Noise was definetly grinding Bloodsauce Dungeon for a good 2 hours, after I got out of it with a P-Rank I felt like every other level was a cakewalk. I rate this update a 10/10, refreshed, renewed, better than ever!

I started the game really loving Peppino, relating to the daily life struggle he faces. When I reached floor 3's boss, The Noise, I thought it was a very fun character, especially with all the charm that comes around the boss fight (“Noise Tea” in floor 4, as well as his pose there, and the extra art shared by the creator). I'm kind of a good-guy person; I usually prefer heroes over villains. But, with this update... MAN I changed my mind very quickly LOL! How the Noise moves, plays by its own rules, all the surprises and Easter eggs that comes as differences between his and Peppino's gameplay... He's UNHINGED!!! AND NOW I AM TOO!! I grew to prefer The Noise. But, I started playing as Peppino again, and man, I LOVE both of them. Game of the year 2024. Thank you for the video!

It is funny how many think is a different drink that The Noise drinks in R-R-Freezerator. The official wiki says it is a highly cafeinated drink, others say it is booze (whisky, tequila, etc), others say oil and in your case, gasoline xD Unless McPig states what The Noise drinks, we all be speculating xD

You forgot peppibot factory where he uses water on some outlets that he cant get past with he's move set and fake peppino where he spooks chasing fake peppino away with the sprite of “watchitbub” I'm not sure if that's the name but it's something like that

Also, i didnt know if the noise play through is a playthrough where he actually took on the tower, or it was just a play in a theater as show in the end credits. The diciding factor ended up being the doise, since if he was an actor like the other bosses, he would be missing from the final screen. So yeah he took on the pizza tower and then went to the theater

I wish your other videos did as good as your Pizza Tower ones, nonetheless I hope this one also does well and brings more attention to your overall content

If you time noise cancel to a floor you'll go mach 3 as well, the biggest challenge with noise lack of scaring the enemies, like especially the tornado, you are forced into a hop after using it wich adds even more time you can't scare enemies, the main reason I'd way rather prefer peppinos dive is that small forced hop.

@@aarepelaa1142 the problem accrues in places like pizza scare where pizzards are camping ledges, so not only your vulnerable during the super jump, youre also during the cancel. and even then, if peppino misses, he will cling to a wall and start wall climbing, which gives him insane speed

I like the noise update, it does add some more charm and spice to the game but also takes some other things I liked about using peppino, like Gustavo and the rat, and also how we lost the gun for the vigilante. But overall I loved using the noise

Do you know how to use a flying combo with Noise? It can really help with speed running levels

I can absolutely see that Pizza Tower is a really well-made and very creative game that absolutely deserves GOTY status... but I will never play it. I get sensory overload by just looking at it for ten seconds and even a bit of motion sick.

If you wall jump and spam dash and jump you can fly and you can get clothes for it.

Get hit by every cow, slip on a banana 10 times, don't hurt any noise goblins, find every PTG, see noise come out of the TV, beat the time on your peppino file, beat the game in under 2 hours, kill 3 enemies with the tornado, fly with the crushed jump and side spin, taunt the maximum amount of times without losing a P rank, John Gutter D rank in under 4 minutes, that's all I could think of

8:24 In my opinion, Fake Peppino and Pepperman's difficulty ranking are swapped, it takes much longer to destroy the statues in the last 2 hits, and the attack where he flies through the air can be a bit harder without grab, while I didn't see much of a difference with Fake Peppino.

At first i thought the noise was kinda meh, i didn't liked the fact that he wasn't able to climb walls, and the tornado felt weird. Then i started to found out how absurdly broken his moveset is, and how almost every move cancels into other moves so smootly that i ended up playing Pizza Tower a hell ton of hours again. He is harder to master, but damn he is a speed god.

The noise is actually a Tazmanian devil ala looney tunes. His better air mobility makes him feel like an upgrade at times but he's wild and harder to control. Lossing out on Pep's wall run also means you have to constantly be fighting muscle memoryor else WHAM!!! There goes another P-rank attempt, but the Noise can give such an insane level of flow when you get good with him. His timer is always about 2 minutes shorter than Peppino's but I cleared Oregano desert, the hardest level for me as Peppino, so fast I went back to the lap 2 portal thinking I still had to run a second lap because I had a whole ass extra minutes to myself despite having already RAN THE SECOND LAP.

The noise update is pretty awesome and fun though!

The Noise is actually a very cool character!! The way you can mantain the speed with his moveset is insanelly fun, and although it has less verticallity, the instant super-jump showed me some ways of going more fast in the levels. And in my case Noise made Oh, Shit! better, and made RRR worse (not because being broken or difficult, quite the opposite. It made it more boring (although ngl, the character interpretation was on point there). So yeah, I heavely agree with you. Awesome video, as always
