My main reasons for buying the OLED model were that I liked the white joycons (though they do slide a tiny bit out of place in handheld mode) and the fact that the screen was bigger and had more vibrant colors, of course I don't actually own a regular or lite switch to compare it to, but I had the money to spare and figured I'd splurge a little since it's actually my first console I've bought for myself. I think it was well worth it

@@aplayz752 IT's the same battery but on the OLED it doesn't matter if you play on low brightness or MAX, you get the full 5 and a half hour battery life. On normal Switches you get 3 hours on high and 5 hours on low to medium brightness

One big thing that the lite has over the switch is that it physically feels more stable while the the removable joycons on the base switch feel flimsy and very easy to brake.

I'm the kind of person who barely uses their Switch outside of docked mode, but the times I have used it in handheld mode I didn't really feel like it would break and that it was flimsy. Yeah, I felt the joycons wobble a tiny bit if I, like, tried to make them, but while I was just focusing on my games I never noticed it. I'm not saying this doesn't happen of course, if there's been enough people saying this then obviously its a thing that some people experience, but I feel like that's more of a "your mileage may vary" thing, like a defect that some Switches might have rather than "this is a universal thing".

There are rubber bumpers in the dock to protect the screen. Also, Nintendo includes a screen protector with the new case. It's not even noticeable once applied. (Props for including the original screen protector too as the case works with both.)

I got the Tears of the Kingdom OLED recently because my launch day Switch has been absolutely struggling to run newer games because of its age and hardware, and I gotta say it might be placebo, but games have been running a LOT better. I like the upgrade, and gave my old Switch to a friend of mine who didn’t have one.

Uhm, that's just not true. The New 3DS XL had a significantly tougher shell than the regular 3DS XL, games like Monster Hunter do look notoriosly better on it, and it has a thicker stylus, which is actually pretty nice. I don't even have to explain why the GBA SP is an upgrade, but you can make it even better with an IPS screen from Aliexpress, they're really worth those $50. The DSi Menu made it feel like a portable Wii, which was great, and its XL version introduced a screen size that became mandatory as I grew older, not to mention its shell design. And the GBC actually introduced colors to the existing GB catalog, I have to assume that was crazy, since I didn't exist back in those days.

@@desh206 even the PLAYSTATION line up, had FLOPS as well... not to mention the PS2 had 4 versions, the fat one who ate CDs, the SLIMMER one who can cook an egg... heck even the recent PS5 v2 had a recent downgrade, by making their water vapor cooling a milimiter smaller... and the fans are smaller to, means temps will get higher... while NINTENDO on the other hand make slight upgrade in their revisons... and still NINTENDO gets flack for what they do.. lol.. even the joystick drift was already a sony thing...

Honestly, as long as you have a regular switch that works well, there is at least no reason to rush buying one. Unless you are frequently playing in handheld or tabletop mode, then the improvements might be worth a purchase, but still

Some points you made in the video summed up my thoughts exactly. The only reason I would ever buy an oled is for the better battery life (I've had my switch since April 2017 and it still works fine) and/or if something's wrong with my switch and I can't get it fixed. The good amount of features seems to be features that should've been dealt with day 1 and it's more fit for those who mostly play handheld. Since my switch is almost always docked, oled is not worth it for me rn.

2:59 actually won’t be an issue since this model uses a glass screen which is harder and more scratch resistant than the plastic screen on the regular switch which is why the scratches were there plastic can scratch each other but plastic can’t scratch glass

Nathaniel Nandy will never beat the story lore of Bathaniel Nandy bonding with Nathaniel

I have Zelda joy cons and they don't drift at all. The only problem is that when I hold straight up on the left stick, my character in a game moves slower than it's supposed to, as if I'm barely pushing it. But it's only straight up, any other direction Is perfectly fine, even when it's up but a little bit off to the left or right, it's just fine, it's only when it's STRAIGHT UP! I haven't noticed it do that when they're unattached, it's when in handheld mode, so I don't know what to do.

i had the 3 hours battery life switch before upgrading to the oled moddle and the lan port bigger screen and better battery (in my case) is worth the upgrade. so if you have a 2017 original moddle and haven't upgrade since this is very worth it

Among us is not bad, it is just not as popular anymore, I still play from time to time and the only thing that I hate is the community.
