How The Mafia CONQUERED Philadelphia | The Philly Family Part 1
Ойын-сауық
NSTLKIA presents 'The Final Battlefield', our newest documentary on the rise, and subsequent fall, of the Philadelphia mafia family.
Part ONE of the series follows the rise of the Philadelphia family from a small branch of New York's D'Aquila gang, to a massive crime organization that would dominate the city across the 1950s until the early 80s, when the new boss, Nicodemo Scarfo, would viciously take over the family, and run it into the ground...

You've researched the early years, the 20's, really quite well. A lot of names I've not came across before, so respect where it's due there. Well done bro.
Breathtaking documentary. Premium quality
Great content , patiently waiting for part 2…
Riccobene wasn’t looking to take over the family. He was refusing to pay Scarfo’s imposed street tax.

Montreal seems to be the most active and violent mafia city in America/Canada. The rizzuto’s and the n’drangheta, and even the maggadino/toddaro familes. You’d have content for a months on them.
@BostonsF1nest

They definitely are. And imo Buffalo is the most active American family because of their close ties and proximity to Canada. Their underboss Dom Violi is Canadian and grew up in the Luppino crime family. There have been a few unsolved murders north of the border in the last few years that are closely linked to Buffalo and the Ndrangheta in Hamilton and Montreal. I think Buffalo is wise to carrying out murders in Canada because they know the law is more lenient and they won’t have the FBI breathing down their necks.

Montreal is fucking *HIDEOUS!* I worked in gambling there...tons of mafia in that business, and at least during my time (2012-2019), they were all certifiably insane. Just an endless horde of aggressive idiots with zero substance - especially on the reserve where they can go unchecked... I've been studying Cosa Nostra for 20 years, and I can count on one hand the number of mafia families in history that have acted as self-destructively as Montreal's current faction does - although Scarfo-led Philly happens to be one of those few. Even the few minor moments I've witnessed personally are enough to betray a truly remarkable level of disorganization and personal insecurity. I've seen goldmines utterly *obliterated* by...just... nothing. Snowflake reactions to minor issues suddenly = massive widespread conflict. It's not even a cooperative business effort over there, like the mafia is supposed to be...it's just an aimless ego battle where they use business as a means to get angry. lol 🤦♂
@BostonsF1nest

@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid it’s not a cooperative effort because there are various criminal groups operating in Montreal. And various ones hold power over the underworld in that area. That’s why it’s so violent. I’m not even talking about the different ethnic groups either, although that does play a role. But specifically within Italian organized crime you’ve got the Sicilian mafia, the Siderno Group, the Camorra, Ndrangheta, Cosa Nostra- and within those groups there are various families vying for power. Not to mention families made up of a mix of each of those groups. On top of that you’ve got bikers, black gangs, Irish gangs, Mexican drug cartels, Colombians, Asian organized crime, Indian OC, prison gangs, and gangs collectively made up from different regions in Canada. Another huge reason why Montreal is like that is because of Canadas lenient sentencing guidelines and court system. Life in Canada doesn’t mean natural life. There is no death penalty. And homicide is often rewarded with a slap on the wrist and a few years behind bars.
Great video as always man. Always on point man

This documentary is amazing, so you just earned yourself a new sub my friend. I have an insane love for anything to do with mafias from every damn inch of this floating rock we reside on. But, i love la cosa nostra aka the italian american mafia families from all over the country more than any of the other mobs in existence. HOWEVER!!, My one gripe that's really driving me up the wall, is when you keep calling these guys that are either up and coming or next in line, a freaking apprentice, as if they are in a trade to he an electrician or plumber lmao🤣🤣🤣 but its all good man. Just had to say that. You are doing great and i love to watch your documentaries. They are better then ANYTHING any of our current streaming services have to offer. You are godsent my friend. Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent still -motion photography pictures 📷. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator was describing. Historian's early research differentiated facts from fiction. Weren't they the " GANG " that couldn't shoot strait bunch???😱
I thought it was because Harry R wasn’t paying tribute because Bruno let him be immune to it, Scarfo wanted the tribute and harry refused starting the war between those factions. I could well be wrong but I’m sure I’ve read it a few places that’s the reason not because Harry wanted the top position

It would be cool if you did this for each of the five families. I think that would be wildly popular. Especially a full history of the Genovese. Their leadership is very ambiguous after Genovese goes to prison up until Gigante takes over. I know Phil Lombardo was in charge at one point before the Chin. And despite what ppl say about Tieri and Salerno being merely front men- which I agree with- I also believe they both held the reigns of the family at one point individually albeit briefly, prior to Gigante taking full control.

Anyone else annoyed at the continued use of Genovese's name? The guy was arguably the single biggest fuckup in US mafia history, and held the reigns of that family for among the shortest periods of time out of any of the several dozen bosses in its history, so....why is his name on it, again? lol 🤔 Seems like the most appropriate would be Luciano, but if not, at least someone semi-successful...

Do this for the AZ mafia
I recall Monte being consigliere. I would assume second in command means underboss, but I have no independent information of his and Scarfo’s dealings. C Merlino wasn’t in very good graces around this time so you may be right.
