I just don't understand why they treat their citizens so poorly. If they changed the policies the country would thrive.

How about stay out of their countries business their policies are for their country and the reason they are in the situation they are in is because of United Nations sanctions that prevent North Korea from importing a certain amount of food per year for a country with 26 million people and you know who supported those policies it was the United States and South Korea.

North Korea doesn’t have the highest suicide rate on earth nor is its birthrate collapsing like free market capitalist S. Korea. No chaebol oligarchs in the north.

China is doing just fine but the United States is $34.56 million dollars in debt so yay to capitalism.

What is the good? What is an example of a good nation? What can we compare North Korea to and what is "the good"?

Astute question. The USA is actually seeing record numbers of it citizens dying on the streets homeless but the billionaire-owned corporate media doesn’t talk about it. Meanwhile S.Korea darling Free-market capitalist ally of the west, still has the highest suicide rate on earth of any industrialized nation and has seen its birth rate simply collapse. No one talks about the Chaebol and the wealth and equality and the fact that the social safety net doesn’t exist in South Korea and has been destroyed in the United States.

It's understandable if the country is tightening internal security ...the DPRK's enemies can go to any extent to stir trouble for the nation... besides, internal peace is needed for fast economic development....
