No, they might be powerful in italy and some parts of Europe but they can not compare to south and central american organized crime, the cartels literally supply most of these crime syndicates.

Tommy Lucchese did it perfectly, being in the timeline he was, during the depression and getting control over the unions and several legit businesses, He was a master of keeping a low profile, and keeping his name out of sight/suspicion etc. I bet Edgar hoover hated him, because he couldn't get him.😂😂😂

The one comment was on point the narrator didn’t hit on all points why the mafia was successful this country has always had a racism problem like now but even worst back then example they can wreck havoc in poorer communities with help and assistance from police and judges but if it was returned to the mob or their enclaves I don’t have to say it you already know just watch Fargo season 4 that’s one example

The USA destabilized south/central america and worked with cartels, guerillas, and even dictators in south/central america by putting them in power but everyone seems to forget or just doesn't care. People act like the usa has changed but they still won't allow other countries to take advantage of trade by putting tariffs of their economies

Cosa Nostra dead? Man you haven't got the slightest clue of how big they are. They are just great at hiding, always have been. But you're right about 'Ndrangheta, it has been on the rise indeed in the last couple decades, and it's probably on the same level of Cosa Nostra by now.
