Thank you Fr. I have been there. But part of the reason is I am divorced and remarried with no annulment to a man who is divorced and no annulment, plus he refuses to get one as a noncatholic. The Catholic church teaches I am not forgiven even if I get an annulment because my husband is not free to be remarried. I was fallen away from the church when I made those decisions but when I tried to go back I am told I can not come back without the process of my annulment and my husband's annulment. I am in mortal sin. I feel closer to the Lord than ever before in my life. My desire to be with Him is so great. I desire nothing more. But yet the church keeps me away from Him by telling me i cant take Communion. I attend mass and do not partake in Communion every Sunday. but I can't help hear the fact the church teaches I am going to Hell if I die in a state of mortal sin. So what you say is contradictory of the church teaching. My belief is that I am forgiven. Jesus gave me grace because I repented and am turning away from sin. I see where I was at fault for not getting an annulment and marrying someone who is free to marry as well but now that is my life. I love my husband dearly. So what is the difference of the devil telling me I am not forgiven and the church doing the same? I say the rosary daily, I fast, I pray daily for my husband to convert. I do so much for our salvation. But I feel like I have to be near perfect now so I make it to heaven because I am told I am not. It makes me sad but I love the Catholic church and love the Euchurist. I can't be away from it like so many leave to feel the peace of protestant teaching.

St. Margaret of Cortona faced similar problems. She was born to a farming couple in Laviano, Italy, about 1247. When she was seven, her mother died, and her father remarried. However, Margaret and her stepmother did not get along. When she was 17, Margaret ran away from home with a young knight to his castle. However, they never married. She lived for the next nine years in his castle. She bore him a son. Then one day, the knight failed to return home from a hunting trip. She went to look for him, and found his body. He had been murdered. Then, Margaret was stricken with guilt and sorrow over her sinful life. She went home, got her son, and went to her father's house. Her father was warned by her stepmother not to take them in, so Margaret and her son went to a monastery where they were welcomed and given food and shelter. Some time after this, Margaret became a member of the Third Order of the Franciscans. She spent the rest of her life in prayer and service to others. She died in Cortona in 1297. Her son became a Franciscan priest.

I think you're right. I've tasted that despair in my life. It has on many occasions made me slow to turn away from my sins. But there is another issue. Though it hasn't been a primary issue for me there has been those times when I've been so certain of God's love and commitment to me that I've been slow to turn away from things that would harm my relationship with God, knowing that he would be merciful in my weakness. I think this is call the sin of assumption or presumption. Both of these extremes are dangerous.

Acts 10:34-35 *Peter began to speak:"I really understand now that to God every person is the same. In every country God accepts anyone who worships Him and does what is right"*

@@richardmh1987 Two noncatholics who are married even by a Justice of the Peace are considered to be in a valid marriage by the Church. So without knowing all the details the only advice is to go through the tribunal and see if either marriage is valid.
God gave us an entire world full of beauty and miracles to enjoy. The Devil tries to show us a dark lonely dingy corner and tries to convince us that this is all there is.
Thank u Father.
Thank You Father Casey! I was becoming so obsessed with the sins I have commited in my past that I totally forgot that I repented and I have been forgiven by the Lord during confession❤❤
That is so perfectly explained. Thank you!
So true ❤
The perfect speech to repeat oneself every day ❤
Very nice thank you ❤
Yes, I agree. Most dangerous moment on death bed , when doubt and despair comes. This is the moment souls lose Heaven. This is most dangerous moment for the soul. Very scary.
Wow. I've never thought of it like this. No one has ever explained it this way to me. Thanks.
Thank you farther❤
Needed to hear this.
We go to heaven by his mercy not by our merits . Wonderful. If we are with Jesus he guides us in the right path and protects us from doing sin but if you following somebody else we are blindfolded of sin and not aware of the sins we do .
I love you father Casey!!!! 🎉
Beautiful! ❤
Thank you father
This clarifies alot thank you
JESUS SAVES. The adversary whispers lies.
If you have done something truly grievous and despair is your mate, your bedfellow, because of what you did, how do you keep moving on? Absolution by a priest, done. Forgiving myself? Yeah, that's harder to grasp. I'm getting there tho...
Thanks, Fr Casey!
Amen.
THIS is what the world needs
Hell's for bad people and Heaven for good, but when I say good I mean the ones that've always stayed pure, perfect and clean of sin, which only Jesus was
We must forgive others AND ourselves. I don’t know which is harder.
Wow so ,so true! I love it!
praying for all people who think they are holy just because they are prayerful and don't do bad things. they are blinded by Satan. they don't and can't even pray the "Jesus prayer" because of their pride which is a sin and makes them a sinner. 🙏🙏🙏
Wow Fr. Casey I needed to hear this.
I needed to hear this today ❤
sometimes it is the bad things that we are unrepentant for.
Well put Father
Greetings of peace in the Triune God, Father! Thank you for your ministry. I would just like to ask, in the context of this specific clip, where does purgatory come into play?
Awesome. Jesus is our only hope.
What if you suffer from depression and anxiety and are so afraid of doing wrong, that you become obsessed with the beliefs, commandments, and getting the catechism right? How does this affect a person's salvation? Despair & obsession.
Father Casey, I’m struggling with knowing a vocation to the priesthood. How did you know that you wanted to be a priest?

You have to be really called to be a priest hey, called by God Himself or you should seek help and counsel with a vocational director🙏 May the Lord be with you on your journey

@@Father-Lemon at 13, it may be best to keep it open as a possibility in the future. Continue to pray and grow in your faith in the meantime.
Nice. Thanks
A sin is to give up before you hit your goals
If priest can forgive sin, Jesus died in vain. They think they are mediator between us and the father but only Jesus can do that.
Well, he probably draws us into the sin of pride. With pride, we like Satan, think that we can become God.
Thank you, Father. More like this please…
Well if the devil tricks us then it’s not our fault. Lol!
I just fail to comprehend why this loving, caring god hides behind a wall of invisibility, and why on the way to eternity we have to pass through this horrid thing called death. It all just seems like a story people preach and believe to numb their crippling fear of death. I never thought that believing could be so difficult...

If it was easy everyone would be doing it.
Oh do I suffer from that
Excepting JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Savior. It really is that simple.🍞🍷✝️. Now walk the walk- live the life . except Christ is Lord.
I thought if you confess with your mouth and believe He was crucified n died for our sins n that He rose again, confessing He is Lord, you are saved. The good we do is fruit that Spirit is in us.
Thank you!
❤✝️
i believe humans can save humanity
Wow- It’s not the sin but the despair. Great to know! So that’s why Judas didn’t make it. I see. Thank you, Father!. 👍✝️🌷
I have to admit, even if God isn´t real, even if God is fiction, then it´s still darn good fiction...
Curious what about when I’m in mortal sin, could I still receive Jesus’s body & blood?
It led me to drunk (only beer) dont drink even beer dont smoke dont do drugs
what about the Catholic Churches' 2000 year old teaching that if you die with an unrepentant mortal sin on your soul, you will go to hell? despair and bieng unrepentant are 2 very different things.
I can’t possibly be forgiven because I myself couldn’t forgive. As such, to ask God for forgiveness would be very hypocritical for me to do
There is a higher price than heaven. It's the spiritual realm. Souls that go-to heaven end up returning to the material platform. Vedic knowledge is more advanced than the Christian.
Presenting to speak for God maybe
So, how does this work in the context of mortal sin then? Because it seems like if you have a moment of weakness and knowingly commit a mortal sin, between the time of the sin and your next confession, you're cut off even if you're repentant.
Could you please explain the despair part? I've had moments where I despair of sins I've committed, does that mean I'm automatically going to hell? I realized I can be forgiven and gone to confession, but in the moment I've despaired
I can agrue...but I will not win...(Drunk)
Yes! Correct!! Only Jesus’s Sacrificial Death, 🩸 b blood, Purity, & Resurrection over Death can redeem your or my soul from eternal damnation/ separation from God Almighty! Only His substitutional death for me can save me from my Original Sin and allow me entrance into Heaven!
I'm having a really hard time understanding how I can be trapped in sin if Jesus died to save me from sin. Jesus said that the Truth would set me free and that if I am enslaved by sin, it must be because I don't know the truth. I John 3:4-10 says the same thing. Who believes that?
Ugh, ain’t this the truth. As a porn addict in recovery trying as hard as I can to resist the urges and temptations, there are times where Evil whispers in my ear and tries to get me to give in. I pray.
