I actually think Deep Freeze and Sub-Zero ended Freeze’s arc perfectly, I think Cold Comfort is where they went wrong by making Freeze go back to crime, I think his story should have ended after Sub Zero

If anything, I’d rather have an episode of Freeze getting cured and seeing Nora. Freeze would probably get arrested but it would be nice to have Nora promised to see Victor while he was in prison.

Yeah, Bruce timm just refused to let Mister Freeze have a happy ending. Quite sad and selfish, really. :(

When talking about meltdown I disagree about freez having no reason to go back to villainy. Think about it, Natalie was the first person in about 40 odd years to show freez any sense of kindness, and it turns out she was just faking it to use him in a experiment and is willing to basically kill him off when he's no longer useful. Especially someone like freez who has had a history of people backstabbing him.

Bruce explained the way Freeze is when it comes to emotions: "He lives for revenge." Like the video said he tried to reform and even reconcile, but when he is wronged he is devoted to vengeance and retribution. One of the characteristics that makes Freeze a great villain/enemy.

Cold comfort and after was where they went wrong, sub zero had his best side kicks the polar bears. The writers just couldn’t help themselves always try to do over do it. I’m glad the first 3 BTAS stories are always still part of his character, like how the Arkham series did it.

I may have misremembered Meltdown. I thought it was just a lab and his plan was to take out himself and everyone in the building, not everyone in Gotham. Still failing to account for innocents, but more with the goal of stopping a corrupt group than making the city suffer. Time to rewatch it I guess. ^-^

Just got done watching it. It was just the building with himself in it. Not all of Gotham like how he was trying to do in Cold Comfort.

I agree that the first episode based off of tragedy is better alone. While they take some away from it by having Nora be alive, me freeze doesn't act out of character. It's also fair that Nora might be kept to study. Although it would honestly be better if Nora was cured at the end of that episode and Mr freeze was injuried to the point of becoming the head in Batman beyond. The other episodes are not needed, a bit contrived and me freeze is acting out of character so they are not really needed at all. As for Batman beyond. I always thought that it was implied that his condition effected him emotionally and logically based on how differently he acted after getting a new body. As for why he did what he did, he clearly wanted to die by that point. Having everything he had taken from him again, being faced with the same life I see why he would choose to end it. As for why he used the power plant, it was powers plant. He wanted to continue to take stuff from him and his city. I don't think it would of destroyed Gotham since it only destroyed its self in the show.

Everything Freeze did was out of love for his wife but he went about it the wrong way. It didn't help that he was constantly getting screwed over by others which was likely responsible for driving him insane and out for revenge against others just for being happy while he was miserable.

Sorry, man, but I do not agree with this video. I do not care if Bruce Timm didn't like that they brought Nora back to life, the image of her in suspended animation inside a tube with Freeze standing before her is a very iconic image. I know Freeze is a villain and does bad things, but you kinda want to see him succeed, if only to be reunited with Nora. Also, I think Cold Comfort ruined Mister Freeze by taking away his happy ending, making him a robot and giving him supermodel henchwomen!!

the way the writers treated Mr. freeze is tragic in its own, although I would disagree about Deep freeze and Sub zero a happy ending is welcome to batman roaster of tragic unfinished villans arks ☻.

How the hell can you look at the endings of Deep Freeze and Sub Zero and think it's uplifting? Yes, Nora is back, but Freeze is still isolated from her. He can never live with her thanks to his villainous actions and his condition. The ending of Sub Zero in particular is very bittersweet. The image of Freeze wandering into the icy wastes is to show that he has let go of Nora so that she can live her own life. He is sacrificing his happiness and his one wish, to be with her, in order to give Nora a new chance at living. Had his story ended with that image, then it would have been amazing. But yeah, Cold Comfort was bad.

I don't completely agree with the video, but I do get some of the points here. I find killing him off was a bad move because he is a villain worth keeping around.

While I get the point about killing off an astablished villain I'd like to point out that freez was designed for Bruce wain, not Terry Maginec. Villains are designed for the heros they oppose and despite being a batman villain, freez wasn't a batman beyond villain. And when you remember that all the classic villains in beyond are ether background characters such as bain, or mainly focus on other aspects of the story such as re'shallgoul and even freez himself, who's mainly foucused on him trying to make amends only to be stabed in the back again rather then his interactions with Terry.

Cold Comfort wasn't a bad thought to bring Mr. Freeze back, but I do agree it's execution could've been done better. Same with Meltdown. They very well could've left the story with SubZero, but sometimes tragedy is better than a happy ending.

Comd Comfort ruined Freeze. It was an unnecessary contunution of the Freeze story arc and ruined his character arc. Deep Freeze was a good sequal to Heart of Ice and showed the more complex side of Freeze. Sub Zero brought Victor's story to a fitting (albeit bitter sweet) conclusion, but because the producers wanted to cash in on Batman and Robin the writers brought Freeze back in cold comfort and turned him into a emotionless monster. Meltdown was a decent epilogue but it only made Victor's life more miserable. They should have just left Victor alone after Sub Zero but continued to make his life a living hell because of his popularity. I mean I do see your point in leaving Heart of ice as a stand alone episode but I still stand by my opinion that Deep Freeze and Sub-Zero were good and did not ruin Freeze.

I used to think Heart of Ice was good. I still enjoy it but whenever I look to closely at it, I can see some of the cracks of the episode. And Deep Freeze's retcons makes everyone involved in the origin look stupid.
