When I started working for a pinball company in the 70s he gave gave us a coffee can with kerosine and a brush to clean all the metal parts with, it did a good job.
Thank You so very much for this video! I just couldn’t figure out why my Jet Spin was not starting up. It ended up being the AX make-break switch, and a switch on the Q relay for scoring. I never would have figured it out hadn’t it been for your time and effort. It finally goes! Thank You! Now to figure out the post-game match stuttering…
What a clacker Nice one She's getting there
"Jangly chimes" 😀 That's a new one for me. Descriptive. She is looking much better now. More to do of course. Thank you for all you do for us Ron. Have a great holiday weekend if you can.
Still pretty much to do. Good luck with It and have a nice weekend. 👍😀

This one was a very challenging repair, lots of stuff needed attention! Thanks for watching!
Excellent troubleshooting on that stubborn game Ron, love the way you explain the schematics
I don't know why, but i just find watching Ronnie working on old machines, fascinating. Listening to him work his way through a problem, gliding through the schematics, he's probably one of the finest Mechanical Diagnostician I've seen since my daddy or the fella that taught me how to troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems. Besides, we know that IF we are seeing the video ole Ronnie has already fixed this thing and the customer has it back home and is playing it as we watch this. Thanks for filming this
A former supervisor used to work on teletype machines when he was younger. He told me when a machine would seize or gum up, they would dip the entire print assembly in a bucket of oil.
Wow this one is keeping us in suspense. Thought you were there with it but still got some secret hidden in there. Great work as a can see how you can - have to fallow the plan for it sorry can’t spell squmatics. To get there. Big👍. See you in the next one. Bob.
You really got a knack for fixing what is broken or seized up Ronnie. 3 in 1 oil is cheaper than WD-40 yet they still think it is the best stuff to use. WD-40 will eventually harden the nylon cam structure and it will crack and break. I use WD-40 for cleaning up the metal parts in record player changers. Old gummy and hardened grease can be removed by WD-40 and then you wipe it off. Then apply the oil ( 3 in 1 or Zoom Spout ) and grease the metal to metal contact places..
I had the exact same problem with the player unit being stuck on the Top Score I was working on. Same two pivot points. Clean Clean Clean those switches - Ron 2023
very good, be glad to see when its working

Thanks Ron for explaining the Gottlieb players unit so well. I am having similar issues with my Gottlieb Quick Draw (QD), that darn score motor just keeps running in spike of all the switches that I've checked and rechecked. But now, armed with this new insight, I am hoping I can get the QD to the next level. Can't wait for the next video showing us all how you will finally resolved the many issues. It's days are numbered! Keep these videos coming, your vids have helped me troubleshoot AND fix issues I couldn't have previously done. Thanks again Ron!

My Royal Flush score motor turns continuously sometimes, and have found that the AX relay is sticking. I have not had time to take it out and clean it. Seems cleaning is the first thing anyone should do - as long as they understand how the switches are supposed to be operating and adjusted.
Nice. On e step closer. I love the Gottleib machines of this era. Thanks!
Thanks for the video Ronnie! ✌️

Thank you for watching, Bob!
Thanks as always Ronnie and for the extra time you take when you don't just clean it all up first thing. Step #1 was always clean and look as you go, fixes way more things than ppl realize. Just blowing dust off something quite literally fixed numerous things for me. Much appreciated again Ronnie, I appreciate the extra you do (and always have) on your videos! :)
Thanks Ronnie! I appreciate your patience! :)
14:15 Dialectric grease...doesn't conduct electricity...so perfect not to short those contacts. TY
Super interesting video ! Keep ‘em coming , so helpful when I’m trying to fix my machines, greetings from Australia !
To instantly unlock stepper motors. Give it a shot of PB blaster pen oil. & pow back to new grease.
Amazing
I think this is the first diagnostic type video I’ve watched where you didn’t actually get it going, or at least starting right. … I’m shocked! …Maybe you’ve reached the height of your powers and are on the decline?? Will you ever be able to sort all this out? ….I know you will. I’m just kidding.I don’t think I’ve come across a machine with so many switches just in the wrong place…. A little bit of knowledge in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing. Can’t wait till the next vid. It makes me tense when you don’t get them sorted out quick, as that’s usually how it goes for me….staring at the schematics, trying to make sense of things! I think you’ve got it surrounded though, so it’s days of not working are numbered. Give it up, machine!
Watching closely from 4:00 - I have to do this on my Target Alpha.

Since I have the screw on that pivot seized in exactly the same way, I am going to suggest factory lube failure after eons, not home repair.
27:42 wow, Ronnie. How embarrassing. 😂😂🎉 Like Rip Torn says, “you just gotta grab it by the haunches and hump it into submission “.

0:33 "Rehabilitate". :)
I have been playing with my 71 gottleib roller coaster and after you push the start button the score board keeps going and bells are ringing like you are scoring so something must be stuck and Im thinking that is why it won't send a ball to the pull back cause it thinks there is a ball in play already, my theory anyway, gotta keep digging
Could the fact it stays on no score be stopping the ball in play counting up? Not sure about this one, but some machines would give you the ball back if no score was made, so it would be stuck on Ball 1 if the score was stuck at 0.
Happy independence day and remember people...don't drink a fifth on the forth..otherwise, you may not go forth on the fifth..🍺🤪🍺

Hey...Get Rhythm... 🎶 how the hell do you put taps on ya toes?? ..come on now that ain't possible..unless...ya duct tape them maybe?? Hmm
Being an electrical guy I can easily follow you when your troubleshooting electronic circuits but this mechanical stuff is killing me.
The 8 year old that "worked" on this machine should have their tools taken away. Pulling all of the blades out of the relays is a new one to me.
I’ll bet that is a shoulder screw and should be tight. Having a screw that loose does not make sense. It’s not logical.
