How Sudan has become the world's 'forgotten war' | DW News

Aid organizations are warning of a hunger catastrophe in Sudan as a result of the conflict there, which they describe as a forgotten war. Much of the world's attention has been elsewhere - on Russia's fighting in Ukraine and the recent war between Israel and Hamas.
In Sudan, out of nearly 25 million people in need of aid, the United Nations has only been able to reach a small fraction, and funding, even for that, is running low.
Sudan's war erupted 8 months ago after a period of tension between military chief General Abdel-Fattah Burhan and General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, who is commander of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The fighting has killed more than 12,000 people so far, and displaced over 6 million people. Plus, Sudan's already-struggling economy is on the verge of collapse. The UN's humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan says the situation on the ground is getting worse by the day.

The Sudan civil war is perhaps the dumbest conflict on the planet. Imagine two generals in the same army within the same country beginning a war and throwing the entire country into chaos. It is so sickening! The sheer selfishness of two these so-called generals is astonishing.

The war started a long time ago by someone called Omar Al Bashair the old president who in the time was fighting the war between the south and the north and while there were extreme protests in darfur which made him in danger so he made an army in darfur ruled by someone called dangulu but he was nicknamed hemiditi which means my protection, the army was called the rsf (rapid support forces), and when the war in the south ended, a huge revolution happened in 2018/2019 and both dangulu and burhan (leader of normal Sudanese army) realized that he was going to be thrown down so they teamed with the people and promised democracy, burhan said they would do that in 2 years while dangulu said he wanted it to happen in 10 years, hemiditi then send fire helicopters in a army place thing (idk) so burhan also sent firing helicopters which is how the war started- Most Arab countries support burhan (almost everyone) except the uae
