Troy, The fact that you can just kinda look over the stuff and still get pretty good grades means you've been given a race car for a brain that spends most of its time parked at the curb. Tests are like track days where you get to see what your race car can do. If you are just slipping your race car brain into 1st gear and then flooring it once and before coasting to a finish, because that's all you really need to still beat most of the other brain-cars around you, then you are wasting track days. A good racer needs to go out on that track and test the limits of his/her car, not the limits of other cars. That is how race cars get to a point where racers can start looking for ways to expand the limits of their ride and make it go faster and farther than anyone else. Remember, the track you race on today is not the only track out there to be raced on. There will be more tracks in the future and they won't always be as easy as the one you are on now. Build yourself now to be able to win at any track any time anywhere, instead of facing breakdown later and having to build yourself stronger anyway. You know how. Just do it.

You guys.... don't just cram before exams, the information will only remain in your short term memory and the moment you finish the exam, you will forget all of that. Remember that your are not studying for exams, you are studying to learn. Best thing to do is to pay attention to your class and 'write down' (not type) lecture notes; you'll only need to revise them for exams. The best time to fully internalize any concept is when you are first introduced to it, which is when your mind is like a blank paper for it (it's extremely difficult to unlearn any misconceptions once it enters your brain). When you are writing lecture notes, you are introducing information to your brain by three different senses- sight, touch and hearing. Writing, rather than typing is even more beneficial because it is also associating muscle memory to it and it helps to retain what you learn in permanent memory. You'll have a better chance in recalling what you revised for tests, if you did your revision by a little bit of scribbling
