How strong is Tygem 7Dan? - Really 2-3 Handicap stones against Pro?

    Great reading situation with capturing the white outside group. I would have never found the LZ escaping combination, although it is easy to understand once you see it. I hope you will do more of this, and thanks always for this first class channel.

    Hmm, I don't think 2 hc stones would be enough - I'm tygem 7d myself and I don't feel confident I could even do it with 3 or 4 :D Anyway, interesting game -especially the variations in the middle about escaping the white group - thanks for sharing :)

    Againest a top professional being able to win at 3 stones already is top-amature level...There was a time when the 9Dan pros gave the 1Dan pros 3 handicap games informally...and won ! 7dan tygem is probably closer to 4-5dan AGA or Japan. Still pretty strong though ;-)

    I found it interesting that the difference between pros and good amateurs is not so great if the time controls are so limited.

    Yeah her opponent didn't have much chance. However, it's still a high level game, so there aren't any huge dead groups everywhere and obvious bad shapes. But by pro standards, it wasn't even close, more like a slaughter. She just didn't press as much as she could have.
