Five big black lynels

If you want you can also farm for a pristine royal gaurds claymore by traveling to the even tide island chasm. You can save before you teleport to the light root there then reload if you don’t get the right claymore. This will allow the game to reroll for a weapon in the given pool of broken weapons. Was able to get a pristine 10+ atk royal gaurd claymore.

One note: you have to save/auto save before teleporting since the light root is so close to the claymore spot that it will lock the weapon the spirit spawns with. (Including the given modifier)

What this guide doesn't tell you is that you can go one step further by acquiring a pristine Royal Guard's Claymore. Break the decayed variant, and then head to the northern portion of the Gerudo Highlands Depths. However, the Shadow Soldiers in that area only have a 1/5 chance of offering a Royal Guard's weapon (assuming that you've broken the Soldier's, Knight's, Royal, and Throwing weapons as well).

Same here, and all my weapons broke whith the last lynel at half of the health. Had to do a lot of bow headshots with fuse materials to finish him.

Another good alternative (while not as good) is a silver lynel horn on a royal guards claymore, damaged to 1 hit before breaking which is around 300 damage. It takes around two mounts to kill a silver lynel.

For those who don't know, fusing a Lynel Hoof onto an arrow will double its base power. It's also more effective at damaging an armored Lynel's armor than a Bomb Flower.

When you initially get to the point where it says your weapon is about to break you will have 3 hits left on any weapon before it breaks completely. So you need to hit the ground 2 more times, putting the Royal Guard Claymore at it's very last breaking point, and that is how you get the x4 hidden bonus. if you want to go even further beyond, grab an undecayed royal guards claymore from the shadow statues in the depths. gives you 850 attack instead 😉

I don't like using claymores because they're too slow to swing and many enemies in this game moves too fast or recover really quickly from being stunned.

@@_Just_Another_Guy if you learn how to prioritize your DPS with the claymores, i.e spinning the weapon, not only can you deal almost 1.5x DPS more using a claymore over a single hand blade, you can even cancel the final smash on the ground if you don’t want to break your weapon just yet. most of the bosses are able to be stun-locked though, so i mostly recommend the claymore if you’re farming lynels since the weapon doesn’t break if you mount it and wack it to hell. to each their own though, i swap between both builds and they’re both satisfying to watch boss HP melt like butter

would a gibdo bome theoretically do more damage? its a higher base attsck than a molduga jaw, and since your using it for lynels i dont think the gibdo bone should shatter? edit: just tested it, the gibdo bone shatters even on a lynels back so the molduga jaw is still the best bone fuse for this

I really wanna know, this build does 800 max damage. If I use a normal attack up set with everything else the same expect for the mogdula jaw being replaced with a silver lynel horn, we get: 1.5 * (32+55+10) * 1.5 * 2 * 2 = 873. Isn't that stronger and easier to get considering lynels are easier to farm than mogdulas?

Using a lynel horn means you miss out on the bone proficiency bonus multiplier. In your calc you have an extra 1.5 multiplier which shouldn't be there since its not a bone weapon.

Fuse a wing to a shield, shield surfing with it will make you go just high enough to activate bullet time.

When you have a Royal Guard Weapon, they have a skill that makes it x2 damage when you get the initial "your weapon is about to break" prompt. After that you have 3 hits till it actually breaks. If you jump and swing the claymore downward two more times, that puts it at the last breaking point meaning one hit and it's gone. If you keep it there, you get a hidden x4 instead x2.

Either option is viable, but it is worth noting that the pristine Royal Guard's Claymore is stronger than its decayed variant, which can be very significant when you implement all the different damage multipliers that are utilized.

Thank you 😁 you need to fuse a glider to one of your shields. Then when you do a shield surf you will get extra air because of the glider. Make sure not to aim to soon tho or it won't work. You need to aim as link is coming down rite after hitting his peak hight

Unfortunately gerudo scimitar doesn't have the breaking point skill, where when the weapon is on it's very last hit, it gets a x4 multiplier. They don't even mention the x4 it's a hidden skill. They only mention it gets x2 but that's only for the initial, "your weapon is about to break" so u need to hit the ground 2 more times to get the x4

You are correct and I'm working on a video for the zora spear. The one thing that bugs me is we are lied to about the actual damage we get from the math. For some reason spears are nerfed lol but it's still a really good weapon. Also the other zora weapons might end up being stronger without the nerf. I just need to get some pristine versions to run some tests.

The safest way to make sure would be to make a back up save once you've gotten the message your weapon is about to break, then count how many hits it takes till it breaks. Always make a save before putting the royal guard claymore on last hit hope that helps 😁

Royal Guard weapons have a hidden 2nd skill. the first prompt you get that your weapon is about to break gives you x2. You have 3 hits and on 3rd it breaks, hit the ground 2 times and keep it on it's last hit, that is how u activate the x4.

So when you shield surf, if you aim the bow to soon it won't work. You have to wait a second, when you see link rise and then about to drop, that is when you aim. The window of opportunity is fast.

Yes, but I think you are thinking of the Royal Claymore. The Royal Guard's Claymore is the dark purple one, and when it is about to break it has a skill that makes the damage x2. If you take it even further to it's last breaking point it has a hidden multiplier that makes it x4 instead of x2

Royal Guard's weapons will deal 2x their base damage when they're badly damaged. And the damage gets doubled even further when the weapon is down to its last durability point.

Make sure your armor says bone proficiency for the skill. If the set hasn't been upgraded to level 2, you won't get the skill.

On both BotW and TotK, attacking a lynel on its back doesn't do any damage to the weapon. This is why it's specifically a lynel-killing weapon.

When you mount a lynel, any weapon will not lose durability. That's what makes this weapon so good. If I mess up and hit the ground or swing at the lynel without mounting, it will break instantly as it's on it's last hit to get that x4 bonus

I was fighting them this morning with my weapon build I want to show you guys but man, it's just not the same as the others. It involves a spear but come to find out, the damage shown on screen is not actually the real damage. It's nerfed and so are all spears so it makes the fight a lil harder. This is zuggle and not just the regular buff. It takes about 13 hits or so to kill a white lynel w/royal claymore/break point, molduga, attack up buff and evil spirit/radiant armor.

No Zuggle here or Link would be holding weapons in his hand whenever he starts to run. Zuggle means multiple weapons are being held at the same time and only the main weapon is being stowed when running. Not the case here. Thus not zuggling.

@@Vaustick that's weird, unless they made an update recently that corrected that. I'll have to look into it again but last I checked it didn't work

Yes you can, I actually spent 6 hours yesterday just reloading my data trying to get one to show up lol. Needless to say I gave up. I'll try again another time but it kinda kills the game for me just spending forever trying to get one weapon to show up

@@GMANGaming209 you have to break an UNFUSED version of the decayed weapon for it to show up in the depths. Then, find a claymore spawner (there is one near the mine in the gerudo) tp to lightroot, save, fly over to spawner and if there is no rg claymore, reload save. It took me like 15 mins to get one.

@@adamreed6271 I've tried multiple and even taken some advice from commentors. I even watched some videos on where to get it but the spots I have tried just no luck. The last one I tried was eventide island I think? The one in the very bottom right corner of the map

It would break on the first hit but yes it can. I am uploading a video rite now about a new weapon you can make that will last a long time and has a lot of damage.

You know its time to move on to a new game once you break it.

If there's ever a Master Mode, that may be a good reason to come back. The Royal Guard's Claymore and Molduga Jaw combo may be powerful enough to wipe out a Silver Lynel (especially in a pristine state) with the Attack Up Level 3 effect inclusion, but it won't deal enough damage in 6 hits to defeat a Golden Lynel (assuming that it still has 7500 HP).

@@GMANGaming209 I suppose one way to make Master Mode more challenging is by giving some of the boss-type enemies stronger forms. We all know how much HP a Gleeok has, but just imagine if there are any Golden King Gleeoks.

Now that would be awesome. Makes me want to play BOTW but I let a friend borrow mine so he could catch up with TOTK.

That’s still weak compare to royal guard claymore. I got the prestige RGC from the depth with +10 damage so it end up being 49 plus the silver Lynel blade is 104 * 2 few hits before it break came out to 208 and it’s * 2 again just before it break so it’s 416 and then you eat the high damage food and wear the fierce diety set it’s 416*1.5 = 624*1.5 = 936 lol

Unfortunately food attack buff and armor attack buff don't stack so it would be 49 + 55 = 104 x 4 = 416 x 1.5 = 624

Pristine version is found in the depths at heavy sword locations. I just recently got mine so I will be doing a video on it and where to get it. The decayed version is located in the sanctum of Hyrule castle. Make sure to break it for it to appear in the depths to aquire the pristine version.

The Royal Guard's Claymore has a x2 bonus for being in the almost broken state. On top of that, any weapon that is on it's last hit gets a x2 multiplier and that stacks with Royal Guard's Claymore, so I just made it x4 altogether. It has to be on the breaking hit tho, meaning if you hit anything with it, it will break. Mounting the lynel will never take durability away 😁

It's a hidden skill the royal guard weapons have. All weapons have x2 damage when they are on their last hit and that stacks with royal guard's x2 making it x4

@@DuskVoid very last hit. Safest way to get it there is when you see it say your weapon is about to break you got 3 hits left. Make a save Incase you accidentally break it. Then jump and hit the ground 2 times. You will be on the last hit after that. I always make a save just incase

Cool and all, but the game already becomes easy after you come to the Lynel arena 2 or 3 times. Such a weapon should be an experiment, definitely not something to do in your first playthrough.
