Power💪
People might not understand that these guys probably have a 2 month a year annual training progressive strength training block.. the in season training is maintenance based and injury prevention is key. In season they will probably have 2-3 days available a week to get training drills in, gym work ,other cardio.
@AveSicarius
6 ай бұрын
You can maintain a significant amount of strength with just a few workouts a week if you build said strength in the first place. You can also build strength itself with such workouts, albiet slower than more regular training. The key component of strength programming is basically appropriate rest and progressive overload through constantly raising intensity (usually in the form of 90-100% ORM reps over a large number of sets) so you can absolutely just do one day per major movement a week, alternating between squats and deadlift on one day alongside push/pull on the other days, and make progress. In fact this is an optimal training regimen for people who have other shit to do because honestly you just won't get enough rest unless you are naturally prone to recover faster and have enough time to train more frequently. Also the gear helps, massively, they likely go hard during high intensity periods of training and cut back during the competitive season for various reasons. PEDs allow you to excel with very different training regimens compared to a normal person due to reduced recovery times (hence why professional athletes can both effectively strength train and train what is effectively a high intensity sport within the same period of time) and lower thresholds for stimulation of muscle growth (hence why Bodybuilders can do workouts that just don't work well for unenhanced athletes, low intensity high rep count workouts with a focus on isolation are just not that effective for anyone not willing to go on gear). So while the strength itself is impressive, it's not more impressive because of their training schedule, yes, they could probably be stronger if they trained more, but most people could build strength on a 3 day split, let alone genetic freak athletes who have the best nutrition and gear (in both senses) money can buy, the former just wouldn't be able to maintain the same level of training.
Awesome
Why did they sneak into the physio room? Why weren't the weights in the gym with the dumbbells?

For everyone using pounds 75kg dumbbells in each hand would be 330 pounds total and it’s harder than a barbell bench press cuz it’s less stable. I wonder how many reps they were able to do? A good big nfl player could do 12-20 reps of 315

Rugby players have to excell in speed, stamina(80min a match), raw strenght (tacles, toches, rucks, etc.), power, agility and toughness(I mean they get thrown, tackled and stomped continiously) so while they are not the best in anything, they are good in everything.
