How strikes on Russian logistics weakened Putin's defences in Ukraine | Philip Ingram

"When the Ukrainians are ready to punch through, hopefully those defences are going to be an awful lot weaker...they can continue this hollowing out, until late spring, early summer 2025."

Let me get back to further in history, I already told you this, we were just discussing it. Let us go back to 1991 when we were promised that NATO would not be expanded, to 2008 when the doors to NATO opened, to the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine declaring Ukraine a neutral state. Let us go back to the fact that NATO and US military bases started to appear on the territory of Ukraine, creating threats for us. Let us go back to coup d'état in Ukraine in 2014. It is pointless though, isn’t it? We may go back and forth endlessly. But they stopped negotiations. Is it a mistake? Yes. Correct it. We are ready. What else is needed?.” - Vladimir Putin

More refineries, more radars and EW sites, training bases, logistical hubs and manufacturing sites that supply the military. It takes time, it is less visible until it is visible, but these tactics will work. Already russia needs to offer insane amounts of money to get anyone to go to the front - poor and uneducated men from their far east, Africa and Nepal. Their economy is on its knees. If Ukraine can hold the front line it can undermine its adversary behind the lines.

Russia thought they had Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson. Then the ruZZians withdrew, retreated and were routed from each of those cities and oblasts. The ruZZians have taken no significant territory in the last eighteen months. So much for, supposedly, being the "2nd strongest military in the world". The ruZZian airforce has taken some very significant losses, including the destruction of two A-50U AWACS planes, another damaged, a ruZZian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber and numerous other military aircraft. This list only includes destroyed aerial assets of which photo or videographic evidence or pilot death notices are available. Therefore, the amount of destroyed and damaged aircraft is likely significantly higher than recorded here. Russia Total - 600, of which: destroyed: 415, damaged: 39, captured: 146 including the following: -- Combat Aircraft (92, of which destroyed: 88, damaged: 4) -- Strategic Bombers (3, of which destroyed: 1, damaged: 2) -- Command And Control Aircraft (5, of which destroyed: 4, damaged: 1) -- Transport Aircraft (8, of which destroyed: 6, damaged: 2) -- Helicopters (136, of which destroyed: 104, damaged: 30, captured: 2) -- Numerous other unmanned aircraft. The "invincible" reinforced ruZZian Black Sea fleet has lost between a third and a half of their ships and strength/firepower capacity to Ukraine, a country with no navy. Russia - Confirmed losses Total - 22, of which: destroyed: 16, damaged: 6 -- Guided Missile Cruiser (1, of which sunk: 1) Flagship Moskva -- Submarines (1, of which destroyed: 1) Rostov-na-Danu -- Landing Ships (7, of which destroyed: 5, damaged: 2) -- Minesweepers (1, of which damaged: 1) -- Patrol Boats (8, of which destroyed: 6, damaged: 2) -- Miscellaneous Vessels (2, of which destroyed: 1, damaged: 1) V'asily Bekh (rescue tug) Ivan Khurs (''Yuri Ivanov' class reconnaissance ship)

Penny-pinching in UK institutions (this time the military) without adequate safety and protections of data and security is far more costly in the long term than rigorous and professional in-house control. The intersection of politics (sapping vital military and security budgets to release funds for political sweet deals) and responsibiltiy (actual security and defence) is more than disappointing. Political leaders and parties, the institutions they contrl and the general public, need to get real - and fast.
