Amazing post. We're currently working on building the first ever skatepark in the whole Country, Nigeria. Skateboarding isn't very popular here. We've been pushing skateboarding since 2013. Good job, can't wait for more episodes.

This is a rad series, Zack. It makes me think about how much advocacy plays a role in the creation of so many parks we've had.

Yes! Thank you for making this series, Zack. I'm à skatepark designer/builder in Kenya and we're trying to get a public skatepark built here too. The city is in the process of renovating the main park in Nairobi and they ripped up our most iconic skate spot so we'd like to see a real skatepark built in it's place. The problem is that the renovations started one day without any notice so we're trying to figure out how to get to the master planners to propose this.

Anything is possible guys… we just reached the design phase for our first skatepark in my hometown of Bountiful, Utah. We’ve been pushing to get one since 1994. Its a very conservative community but its come a long way. Keep pushing! Get involved! Any and all efforts pay off in the long run.

I love this. Hearing stories of how the crews built and fought for Washington St really got me inspired. This is great.

This is really important for people who live in smaller communities that do not have places to skate. It all starts with people coming together and asking for what they really want.

Awesome series! We're in a small town in Germany going through the process of getting a new skatepark. Working with the city takes ages and requires ALLOT of patience. Thx for the insights. Can't wait for the next episodes. Looking forward to the next episodes!

Look at Copenhagen for example. California set a stage, however there's much more progressive areas. If you don't advocate you don't get heard, it's not just within skateboarding.
