I'm a retired US Army, 58 years old and no disability. The military Tricare Select Overseas health insurance plan has a special coverage for Philippines. This means there are in-network Tricare approved doctors and healthcare facilities throughout the Philippines that I can use just like in the US. I access these in-network practitioners online using the Tricare directory. For example, I just completed annual medical exam at The Medical Center in Pasig Metro Manila and cost me nothing. Additionally, the International Patient Services department assigned me an escort that escorted me from lab to lab, to doctors' appointments, etc. I am very fortunate to have this insurance in the Philippines.

I broke my leg and subsequently developed an infection. Amputation was on the cards but the medical staff at the hospital saturated me with antibiotics, etc., performed immediate surgery to cut out the infection and kept good care of me post-procedure. The cost of hospitalisation, treatment and drugs would have been around USD20,000, which I paid up-front, but which I subsequently recovered with no hassle from my insurance company.

These are good interviews Alex Healthcare in the Philippine sounds like something that can be used if you should ever feel the need to use it for some reason. And I agree with Filipinas more traditional and pay more attention to their man 👍👍😎😎🆒🆒

Americans who wants to live abroad particularly the Philippines should realized the cost of living over there is only a little lower than in the States. Healthcare is so expensive even if your money is dollar.

I dont know about the healthcare in other countries but the healthcare in the philippines in the govt hospitals is sucks and useless coz if you have longterm sickness or even minor sickness they cant give you tablets or anything else coz majority is corrupt they sell it outside for profit like paracetamol etc.i hope they can change that..but if you have money you can have a high end hotel type services and the doctors majority of them study abroad like in america or japan educated doctors...even rich can be poor coz of medical bills...paying taxes here didnt go to the poor people but to the pocket of some corrupt govt officials only

wow, stupid brain, government hospitals are all free for indigent people, if u contribute for philhealth u hve ur bills covered according to ur contribution,if u hve long term ailment like hbp or diabetes and ur senior citizen u hve 20% less including grocery and if ur indigent u hve ur social pension to cover it hence the medicine is not expensive and u hve assistance frm health center for free meds like paracetamol and others, all u need to do is explore the agencies of government to help u,but if ur not an indigent not contributing in philhealth and no regular job and not paying tax in philippines do u think u deserve for free services, its mandate to all countries this rules,u thnk if ur not paying insurance and pay tax in other country u can hve free services? unless u are poor or indigent and below minimum wage earner, pay ur tax and work to contribute to ur philhealth and social security if ur able, strong and at working age, there is no free in this world.

The health care here is horrible. The best doctors and nurses leave. I know Filipino doctors in the USA that had to find a new career or go back to school here. All my Filipino friends who are nurses went to school in Madison Wisconsin. If you have medical problems you should not live here. I go home every year for a full medical and dental assessment. I have friends who have died in the hospital here for non life threatening problems that were missed. Then they would not release the body until the bill was paid. My friend was not allowed to leave the hospital until the bill was paid for his fathers death.

I'm an Expat had knee replacement surgery at medical center at Angeles city, guess what, my knee got infected because of unsanitary surgery room, I had to fly back to the USA and had another knee replacement anti biotic spacer under antibiotics for 5 months, medical care in the Philippines is terrible.
