I see that they have changed the rubber wheel for a gear on the elevation control; this caused issues with the older Tailgater models, and we had to adjust ours when it suddenly stopped working right. We eventually bought a Playmaker to replace it, and have found that it is not only more sensitive, but is also much faster at locking on to the satellites.

Did you have to use the SWM power injector thing or does the receiver supply the power to the King Quest Satellites?

Enjoyed learning about this product. I’ve heard the larger uncovered antennas are better. Have you had any experience with this type of dish? Someday, maybe, I’ll add a satellite dish. Do you use yours and have you had any troubles getting connected? I have a friend who has the big dish on a high end Class A (with Dish subscription) and he always has problems getting connected every time he moves his rig.

The larger antennas can provide multiple receivers access to multiple satellites at one time. And they usually receive better as well.

Im in Louisiana you are in MI would I be better off leaning where north is lower and south facing is higher. We are closed to the equator so I suspect the satellite we need is further North of the equator. I've been trying to get signal away from my home and just not having success. Checking coax it claims RG6 so this is accurate ? I have 2 dish swapped dish and at home it worked. I might need a new coax because if both dish work and only thing different is coax ? I got this coax online with the white dish. I got the white dish for $50 including shipping that was $25. Has to be a cable issue though it might be a inverter issue but I got grey one working under inverter power supply. Tomorrow im just going to Break down and buy a new cable.

All of the Dish satellites are in geo-synchronous orbit on the equator. A few months ago I did a video on a free app for your smartphone that using the phone's camera, will show you exactly where the satellites are located in the sky. This might help. Not likely. The antennas are tuned for specific satellites.

FYI I have had a DISH Tailgater Pro with the smoke clear dome and you can watch the antenna scan the sky however after two years of full time use it is now very cloudy and just look nasty even if I clean it 👎
