Hi there Russ... I think I recognized the original song that u sampled here. It's called Genjer-Genjer by Lilis Suryani. It's a javanese-indonesian folk song that actually has a great historical value..the song was actually banned by the indonesian government for more than 4 decades because it was (supposedly) tied with communist party attempted coup during the 1965 revolution. Till today, the song is stil considered taboo and avoided to be played freely here in indonesia. But yeah..i must say i like how you sampled it and how it turnt up for your music. Omg!!! Ok, so I can't afford to send my lil man for classical training. Russ, I've said it before and I'll say it again, beauty PERSONIFIED. This man has been a catalyst of change for me. I don't think he'll ever know. I've expanded and I know for a fact, I may have never discovered certain stuff or maybe without his works, it would've taken another decade or some shit. I love and adore him so much and so does my lil man, Michael. He gives and he gives and he gives!! We appreciate ya! 😁💞🙋👥💫👏👋💚💙

I've always been a fan of how Russ basically takes the ideology of post punk (simple arrangements, but every piece stands solid) and places it in a Rap context. It helps to make you pay attention to the vocals, the rhythm, and the pacing of the song rather than overdone production to hide the fact most songs are way too over produced as a norm. It means when he does do something more complex, it stands out, and has a purpose. I think people miss that point when it comes his process.
