I applaud Gowan for coming up with something new and exciting and fun...and still playing Dennis DeYoung in the background while he's describing the whole thing! Bravo! Nice to have the old and the new together...that's the way it should be!

I was hoping he would talk about how the wires in the thing don't get twisted and broken. Or maybe it has battery packs and wireless audio transmitters?

I would assume wireless.....but I wonder what they might've done in the old days (I'm sure Gowan didn't invent the spinning keyboard).

These things are usually done by a 'slip ring' where mutliple contacts slide … just search for slip ring explained. a video will do a much better job at explaining than me typing here.

@@InsaneOrder I know what a slip ring is, and I didn't think it would work well for audio. Perhaps they are sending power through a slip ring, and transmitting audio wireless.

I've actually looked into buying one of these before. They're custom made by a company over in Belgium. At least by that company, the stand itself is wired so you're plugging your cable into the rotating portion, which then sits on a base that doesn't rotate where additional cables can exit to be run wherever needed.

So back in the 1990s I swear I saw a keyboard player in some band be able to reposition his keyboard into different angles live on stage, but I cannot remember what band it was. Anyone know? It was like he could grab a bar, reposition the keyboard at some weird angle, slam the keyboard into a new position, release the bar to lock it in place, and he'd be playing with the keybed at a 20degree angle. It was metal af and pretty hardcore. I seem to remember him slamming it around and it was awesome. Did I hallucinate that?

Maybe Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), he has an angle-adjustable keyboard like that, but his is not with the fast slams like you’re saying, so maybe not
