Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This week I go through what it's been like owning the Volkswagen Golf MK6 R (R20) being a car more than 10 years old. How has it been?
And what I plan to do with the Golf R too?
ALSO! We visit Chapman Auto Services, to fit my new exhaust from Milltek!
Fitted was a Milltek 2.75" Cat-Back Non-Resonated Exhaust (SSXVW162).
Sharing both before and after exhaust sounds.

    Keep on to it bro. I have a 2013 golf 6R manual. Everything is straight pipe, put a downpipe on it ( custom ) BullX exhaust . Air intake. Wagner intercooler. Oem Turbo. Mine Wastegate got fucked :/ HPFP LPFP RS4 rail valve. And you’ve got a beast! Maybe give it a wrap ;) mine is deep rising blue.

    Thanks for the tips 👍 I’m still deciding whether to fit a down pipe or not at the moment, mainly cause I still use this daily. So, for now still want the noise to be a bit more “sensible” 🤣 But otherwise the build is coming along nicely, quite a few things planned over the next 2 months. Ready for summer drives! 😁

    How loud it is on the highway? I'm thinking about this one or resonated, straight pipe was too loud and its my daily

  • @WhatThePun

    @WhatThePun

    I guess depends on what you are comfortable with. The initial setup was non-resonated, the sound output was still okay for daily use then. Then replacing with a sports downpipe, that made quite the difference with the cabin noise. Way more noise from idle and cruising. Whereas just replacing the back half of the exhaust, it only made a slight difference to the sound and was more only a slight improvement from stock.

    @@kris0714 just cat back and a non resonated pipe, was like a small improvement from stock and motorway noise wasn’t so bad. So I would say, it was still okay as a daily.

    It honestly scares me at such a high mileage and I think £9K is a bit high for such a high mileage example. Depends what your plan is with the car is. Things I am concerned or would watch out for at such a high mileage. - Maintenance history such as DSG, Haldex, belt, water pump. Done at it's recommended intervals. - cam chain and tensioner - if it's had recent walnut blast on the inlet / valves - has the fuel injectors been tested - fuel filter - and the general parts that need to be changed from use. Would def be very cautious and inspect every part of the car, just minimise any surprises and big bills later.

    @@WhatThePun I Want to have a look at it. I am really concerned of the high mileage but dealer says car been looked after well engine looks really clean. Will ask for all the history. Theres also a polo Gti with like 200k what do you think about that. Thanks

    @@Roastsection even with my one, though I thought it was driving fine. Till I had the fuel injectors tested, that was when I found out one of my injectors were really bad. But yeah, at such a high mileage I feel like it’s quite risky. If you are comfortable with doing your own work on the engine, then you could be saving yourself a bit of money.

    How many miles has it done and any rust yet? Please don’t do too many modifications to it, keep it original please!

  • @WhatThePun

    @WhatThePun

    Жыл бұрын

    Hello! Thanks for asking 👍 It’s only recently reached over 80k miles. I have noticed a few spots of rust on the front wings, which is common on these models and the MK5. I do plan on having the whole car repainted at some point, as there are areas that’s been bothering since ownership of the car. Such as a small crack on the rear bumper, driver side front wing a lot of damaged paint (looks like poor previous repair) and small bits here and there. Just want the look to look new. In terms of mods, there is a number of things I have planned. As I was very much inspired by a friend of mine who had their Porsche 997 Turbo from new in 2007, they did quite a bit of work to it. To make improvements on a car they really love. So the work I have planned is to mainly improve the handling of the car and up the bhp a little, exterior wise the car will still look original.

  • @WhatThePun

    @WhatThePun

    @@makarrembw a good body shop should be able to help with that, and it’s best to catch it early. As you don’t want it to spread and look worse, or worse case to the point where a lot of welding is needed to repair the damage was caused by the rust.
