Technology becomes liability with insufficient maintenance and technical knowledge. With this method of bag closing , there is no need to buy sewing machine oil , needle , risk breakage of handle , consistent jamming of threads when machine is wearing out … after sometime , machine is not worth repairing !

Yes, "reduce" is that first step, before the other two reusing and recycling, and yes good luck to these people keeping apart from those vapors as much as is required for them! Also I agree with other commenters calling for the safety of those hands working the extruder - any tool or block press for safe insertion of the layer-plastic (bags) sounds beyond priceless, as is his excellent coordination shown here! Good luck to workers!

This process is extremely harmful to you, those around you and the environment. Very harmful toxins are released when burning plastic and can significantly increase the chances of cancer, respiratory illnesses and birth defects. I hope that they understand the risk they’re taking being in this business. It’s scary to think of the chemicals they’re exposed to and exposing others to through the air and even the water assuming it is dumped without any consideration for how toxic it is after contact with the plastic. I’m so sorry for these people.

I think we should be asking the companies that make this plastic to take it back and recycle it, rather than leaving it to random small companies in places like India and Vietnam to take the health risks.
