How Qatar Turned A Desert To A Megacity To Host The World Cup

Ғылым және технология

With the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, fans from around the globe are flocking to Qatar, But little do the masses know that the Lusail City we see today, was a mere desert at the time Qatar was voted in as the host county for the tournament back in 2010. Lusail is the culmination of a $45 billion development effort and it is furnished with an array of amenities and features including waterfront Marinas, Island Resorts, Golf communities, and luxury shopping and entertainment. Stretching over 38sq km it is the second largest city in Qatar and the country’s first sustainable smart city.

Why not? I'm from Singapore and we started off as a rural backwater a small fishing village after Malaysia separated with Singapore. We don't have natural resources and in the early 1980s Malaysia currency is higher than Singapore. Thank goodness we have a great leader that lead Singapore to what it is today. Qatar have abundance of oil and gas and they have more money to spend on development. In no time they will be on par with Dubai. Even Qatar airways is voted a the best airline and Singapore airline is rated second.
