Haha, I didn't think anyone else loved this era of pop music as much as me :) Sick remake Nathan! Just saw your Dr. Drums pack as well, sounds super rad, but the price is just a little too high for me... It would be super awesome if you made a BIG 2006-14 pop pack with a lot of samples and Serum presets that sounded just like that amazing era - doesn't have to be 100% replicas of existing songs, just something in the same vein/style. We need to bring this style back big time, hehe! :p I would definitely pay good money for that pack! Anyway, I'm glad I found your channel and this awesome remake. Well done dude, and take care!

We had a sale running for a week when Dr. Drums came out so you unfortunately just missed that. For the 2000s Pack I am not so sure how many people are actually interested in that, I love the idea too but I can't spend months on building a big pack that only a few people wanna buy. What type of sounds would you find interesting? That era has a really strong electro house influence.

Sure, I will just try to hunt down old electro house packs then :) I just love the old Kesha, Becky G, Flo Rida, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Taio Cruz, etc. stuff! Do you have Nexus XPs Millenium Pop + 90's Pop? If so, are they any good? Or do they just say horrible at this point? Thanks!

@@rasmussgaard2596 I haven't tried those but my guess is that they sound a little dated (judging from the demo). Also my experience with Nexus is that they are not the best when it comes to recreating sounds. I might do preset pack with the Electro sounds from that era for Serum (precise recreations ofc!)

This it the one of the best remakes I've ever seen! Can you remake "Tik Tok" by Kesha?

Wow very interesting video, this song is very unique, i love the way all those synths are layered and unfold in the intro, it is a true piece of art pop, it reminds me one of my favorite Kraftwerk songs called "The Hall of Mirrors" actually for the longest time i thought it sampled that record too, but it seems it's just coincidence. I would love to see another breakdown of Bad Romance, that song has the craziest and more aggressive production i've ever heard in a pop song, specially the percussion and drum work, it sounds downright like a modern EBM/industrial and aggrotech record, my mind is blown that a record so noisy like that was ever a massive pop hit of that caliber, and i think that it really prepared mainstream audiences and pop culture to receive more aggressive sounds such as the rise of Dustep a couple years later.

Appreciate your comment!! The arrangement on this is so well done, very little sounds but all have their own place. Totally agree, this dirty almost industrial sound had a huge impact on Pop Music during that time!

Never underestimate the power of the music video. A pop hit is next to nothing without it's choreography, and fashion(clothes and makeup). Lady gaga in particular is who she is because of her image not her voice. U can summarize the whole "single ladies" in one hand move. This is how important the music video is!

There is a Sound On Sound article with the mixing engineer describing how he mixed Just Dance. For a lot of the "The Fame" songs there are the original ProTools mixing sessions that leaked, although they are pretty hard to acquire. Just some thoughts to get you there :)

10:01 fun fact: the noise redone used in the song is actually water droplets! That’s is what’s causing the noise

@@poplab_audio I was in a video called lady gaga poker face stems, and while I was listening to her adlibs i saw a comment that said that the sound was water droplets, and that’s when I finally understood the noise, so if you ever think of doing another poker face tutorial then I would love to see you do the water noise 😊

Would you be open to do a Windows Down by Big Time Rush tutorial? I’ve been wanting to learn how to do that type of post dubstep genre but it’s not much info about it

Thanks!! I think he got from some old sample CD or rompler - I found a song from the 90s, produced by one of the Cheiron producers that seems to using the same sample.

super cool. There is something about these older pop and dance songs. Since getting into music making and seeing the rise of young EDM producers like Martin Garrix, and Avicii I always believed that everyone can make EDM songs in their home or on the way. However, with older Pop songs/artists, like Poker Face, Sharika, Lady Gaga, and so on, I never made this connection and never tried to remake their music. Even though there is nothing special about it. I am deeply aware that these songs already come from the era of modern music making and DAWs. Anyway, great look behind the curtain and I would love to see more remakes of some older Guetta, Sharika, or Flo Rida songs. See you next time.

They are mixed exactly as you hear them here so you get the actual stems of the this remake :)
