I’ve done that multiple times. And pro tip. If the teacher ever asks for the answer. Just say a random number or smth. Cuz there’s that one chance you could be right and you’d blow the classes mind. Tho. It didn’t work well for me today when i was in math. And dead asleep. And my teacher asked me the answer. And i said Abraham lincoln. Spoiler alert. It wasn’t Abraham Lincoln. Not me but a friend of mine: this man passed out halfway through WallE in the crossarm position. When he woke up, he saw that the girl in front of him was on her phone and was like, “you? On ur phone?!” And she was like “and you? Asleep?” To which he said, laughing, “I didn’t want anyone to wake me up!” TBH I kinda wanted to wake him and ask if he was ok bc it was REALLY unlike him to sleep in class. If I was a teacher and my classes were 50 mins I’d teach for 35 mins and let the students have 15 mins of silent time, to nap, do hw or whatever. As long as they are doing something quietly. Sometimes that 15 mins helps you focus better throughout the day.

My teacher just let's me sleep, and later asked me if I was alright and wanted to talk:) I love her

They key is to avoid crossed arms unless you are teachers pet. You can do most of the others no matter who you are. But it's best if the teacher likes you enough to not make you teachers pet, but to be chill with you(one of my classes my senior year, means the teacher weren't friend by any means, but I was friends with her non pet favorites, so I slept many times and she didn't care). Also idc who you are but slumped it actually the best, especially if you've been sore, it really helps your neck. If you're still reading, here's a a couple fun sleeping in school stories. Freshman year was the end of a 3-4 year period of depression(probably my worst so far), but I was just getting to the end of that and was in the "never sleep when you're supposed to, only when you shouldn't" phase most of the time. So one day, I was in my 2nd period algebra and I hadn't slept well. So I unintentionally nodded off after a few minutes, which was surprising because the teacher would start off normal tone, but by the end, he would be almost shouting for no reason at all(not angry, just loud). Anyways, the guy woke me up randomly and asked me if I wanted to do a problem on the board, obviously to be that dick who wants to teach you a lesson about not paying attention and sleeping by humiliation. I straight up just said, "no, not really". I think he was way to used to people thinking he was kind of intimidating, so he was surprised and then just moved on. I always kinda hated him. Anyway, the 2nd story happened maybe a week later. I was in health(we had to take health one semester for .5 credits and economics the next for .5(or vice versa, just depending on your last name or something) and I hadn't gone to sleep until like 5:30 and had to wake up at like 7, so almost no sleep whatsoever. I knew I was tired all day and was fighting to stay awake but gave up because I was drained. Within 5-10 minutes, I'm out cold. I know I started off just sleeping sitting up. But my guess is I either leaned or was head mostly down by the end. Anyway, I wake up with maybe 2 minutes left of class, and I don't think or care if anyone knows that I slept. As I'm leaving, my teacher(I liked him btw, he was a kinda strongman build funny football gentle giant, he actually is also a fantasy novel author) asked me, "hey man, are you okay?). Confused, I just said, "yeah" and left. The next day he was out, I think he was away for a game. Anyway, I told the couple kids near me about why he asked and then asked if they knew why. It turns out when I was out cold, the teacher tried to wake me up. He started with the normal "hey, wake up, shaking me, etc.". But eventually he apparently starting hitting his fist on my desk and loudly telling me to wake up. Eventually when I didn't, he just said to the class "if he can sleep through that, he needs it bad, and I'm gonna let him sleep.". One of the few days that semester I didn't take a nap after school.

My sleeping position was "I'm taking notes". Head half down, pen in hand, looks like I'm writing but I'm not. My bangs were giving even more cover. They couldn't see my face, and so teachers demanded I cut my hair short.

Sleep in class is always so much better than sleep at home. It’s the fact that you’re just not supposed to do it and you know everyone else is listening and got their eyeballs under fire while you’re drifting away. The only downside to it was when you’d snap out of it with drool seeping out and grill marks on your forehead

In college the library became a hotel during finals. The crossed arms was the most common.

One day in middle school I had stayed up playing my 3ds and I was sleeping in class in the head-on-arms-on-table technique, and the teacher slammed a huge book on my desk. My 6th grade math teacher was the BEST. Whenever we would finish our work, he would let us have free time to mess around, play jenga, connect 4, and he even let us sleep but the bell always woke us up. There was this one Friday when most people weren’t there, but I was, so he gave us free time THE WHOLE CLASS PERIOD and if you asked him he could play a movie or a tv show. Man, he was the best.

Honestly. I find the slumped very comfortable. Maybe because of the very large leg room and the tall back of the chair that allows me to do this comfortably.

Yall tripping the sneakiest one is you take you non dominant arm put your elbow on the desk bend your arm like your flexing lay head down on your arm, next you take your school work put it on the desk grab a pencil with your dominant hand and boom, it looks like you're lazily doing work and really your asleep

I have been doing THE SAME EXACT THING for a year, I am not kidding. The same exact position

One time in maths, I was legit on the NEAREST, CLOSEST, RIGHT NEXT TO THE TEACHER table, he didn't said anything and I was just lying on the table sleeping..... 😂😂😂

I had a friend who would sleep with his head on his hands so it wasn’t very obvious. Everyone at the table knew so we slowly hid his school supplies while he slept through class. Such mature seniors. 😂

Bro when my native language teacher saw me sleeping on the desk she walked out of class for like 5 minutes and then she made me a coffe☕! Literally best day of my life, whole class couldn't stop laughing 😂

My classmate used the book one. He was the closest to the teacher and she faced right at him. She literally sensed if you had gum or were sleeping, yet somehow he managed to make it through the class.

lol my old American history teacher use to make anyone stand up for the rest of the class if they were caught sleeping, safe to say I had to stand about 18 days and he still voted me for the American history award

My old math teacher had a standing desk and people would fight over it because it was the only thing that kept people awake in that class. One time I got it and I fell asleep standing up and fell down. Ig the stand up method doesn’t always work

the kickstand is really good if you can lay the elbow and above on your desk. that way it's so much easier to balance and i've personally fallen asleep 3 times like that. it's also good if you get that thing where you aren't really conscious and you feel like you're falling but aren't asleep yet cause then you aren't jerking awake as much

I always just put my bookbag in my lap and hugged it and rested my head on it lmfao 😭

At my private school I've never seen a teacher be mean about sleeping students. They just gently wake you up and ask if you are okay and if you need to go to the bathroom to freshen up

Yeah that happened when I was in 5th grade. The teachers were friendly. But now I'm in highschool in another school and the some teachers are just mean without any apparent reason 🤦🏻‍♀️

Last year my US history teacher would gently start rubbing your back if you fell asleep

Everytime I cross my arms on the desk and lay my head down, I literally cannot breathe. 💀 my lungs just die in that position

I had a friend who *trained* to sleep with his eyes open in class, dude was insane. And he literally mastered the technique to sleep sitting straight and with his eyes wode open, I'm still impressed by that dude.

I do the reading the book thing all the time

once i was sleeping on the english class (bcz the teacher just kind of aways teaches something i already know) he was a a substitute, and when i woke up bro literally said "who tf are you???" looking straight up at me my man didn't realised sleeping beauty was in his class 💀

We were having finals and the girl in front of me just casually answered her test and fell asleep and the teacher ignored her like it's an everyday thing or sum-😭

Head down is me. I had a dream about my HOSA competition. [The day I did the first round, in my school library, I fell asleep after completing 60 medical math problems, and twenty minutes later, two boys at the table across from me came to me. One of them, Brian, said “Hey Anna,the bell rang”. I didn’t move. He then asked the other one “Is she alright? Is she asleep?” The second boy replied, “I don’t know. But I talked to her when I got here for AP enrichment, to wish her good luck in HOSA. She sounded tired; I feel for her. She said she’s afraid of not making it to the state competition.” Both boys were seniors. The librarian behind us told the second boy to check if I was running a fever. Fortunately, I wasn’t. Boy 2, named Dakota, began shaking me, saying, “Hey Anna, wake up, the bell rang.” I woke up, feeling weak. I stood up abruptly, then fell. Brian then helped me to my feet. He then asked, “Are you ok?” I said, “I’m just tired, and some of the problems gave me a headache.” After finishing the sentence, i gulped down water. Panicking, i started packing my stuff and heading to my second class. But before I got into the hall, Dakota grabbed my arm. Noticing my stricken face, he said, “it’s ok, I know you were a little nervous. I just didn’t want you to lose your temper and throw a fit.” After I admitted that I was nervous, he said, “don’t blame yourself, math can be a little exhausting at times. Did you stay up late preparing?” “Yes, I did,” I admitted, holding back tears. He squeezed my hand reassuringly, then said, “Need me to walk you to class?” “Yes, that would be good,” I replied, now fully awake. He then walked me to class (Allied Health). On the way to class, he told me, “you should try to get some rest, ok?”. “I will,” I said.Four days later, in real life, I found out I had made it to the state level competition. The fact I did these today - Today I legit sit my head on my hands and falling asleep and my teacher knew and said "u alr princess" and said to the class that she had lost me and stuff a few min later (which was actually 40 min) found myself sleeping on my desk and didn't do any work but my teacher didn't mind since she might've seen how tired I was Shes a good teacher 👌

Dude the crossed arms was so good. Istg that position had me SLUMPED and sleeping better than in bed

I do that last one each Wednesday afternoon in my screenwriting tute - tired + bad air circulation = a one way trip to dozing off

i just leave my arm/hoodie sleeve over my mouth so if i do drool im able to wipe it off or just roll up that sleeve

There was a guy in my GCSE english who fell asleep constantly (once a week minimum) and he would just be in the exact same pose when he was awake. Dude was quite large, so that probably made his neck more comfortable and stable, but still. He also was just flat out, to the point you could clap in front of his face like 10cm away, and he would just stay asleep

We have a resting room in our school we can rest whenever our work is done

Bro my seatmate did that (laid his head on his left arm after taking our Spanish pre test). It was like 10 questions long, so I didn’t get why he went to sleep initially, probs bc boredom

I was in my culinary arts class taking notes and fell asleep in the slumped. i woke up and my notes were gone and my teacher was teaching. i was scrambling for the notes and my teacher goes "ur fine, [ insert friends name ] filled out your notes." i will forever love that teacher she was so amazing.

On orchestra, this kid fell asleep on his cello 💀 (We all played as loud as possible to wake home up 😘🤭)

I don't usually fall asleep in school but it was a slow day and two consecutive classes didn't have a teacher showing up so I fell asleep in the slumped position. That remains as one of the only two wacky photos my friends were able to take a picture of. It has been immortalized into a physical image and gifted as a graduation gift 😂 meanwhile I'e got tons of theirs since I take a lot of pictures

@@nolifant7000 two words: monoblock armchair. If you aren't familiar with it, it's basically an uncomfortable plastic chair with an armrest on one side that acts as a desktop. It's a staple of public schools here in the Philippines. And because I am taller than the average, the table is uncomfortably low to rest my head on without crumpling like a hunchback. Admittedly, the slumped position was equally uncomfortable for my neck but like I said, I don't usually fall asleep in places not meant for sleeping on 🤷‍♀️

I used to sleep in class everyday… as a gamer and night owl, it was an impossible task not to. I tried techniques like pinching my ears really hard and scratching my arms, but I just couldn’t seem to stay awake. The “reading a book” position was my go to, but I found that that position would A.) have the risk of me waking up to a puddle of drool in my lap, and B.) when I’d sit up after awaking I’d have the most ungodly burp imaginable bubble up from inside of me. Not to mention that any of these positions were under risk for waking up with a jolt that slams my desk so hard that it scares everyone else in the class. Ofc this happened several times in this one class I took in senior year that was all freshman. I’ll never forget waking up to those little faces staring at me with pure terror… even the teacher was taken aback. Bad times, good memories.
