A transfer board would’ve made that experience so much easier; regardless of the type of your chair

Do you mean a standard transfer board or one of those special bath ones? I used to use a slide board originally but once I got the technique down I personally found it much easier to transfer without using a board (for all transfers not just bath). I guess as with most transfers, there are different ways to do it and everyone has a their own preference :) We did look at getting one of those specific bath boards but we couldn't find any that would fit this shape bath but now months of practice later I'm not sure I would bother to use one even if they did exist - it gets much much easier with practice!

PARALIFE Yes I was referring to a standard transfer board. But I would live the bath bench with the seat that slides back & forth & lowers you into the tub. But I don’t have the money for one of those.

How do you balance the slide board? I always found positioning it so that it doesn't slip quite tricky. Yeah everything mobility related is ridiculously expensive! That's one of my worst thing about being disabled - the technology exists to help people but nobody can afford to buy it. Glad there are a lot of charities to help a bit!

Is your injury complete? Do you get spasms or tone and how do you deal with it?

Yeah, my injury level is t4 and it is complete. I get quite alot of spasms and have tried medication to reduce them (e.g baclofen), but found it didn't really work for me. My spasms aren't that violent so I just tolerate them. Any tips?

@@PARALIFE Hi. It seems BOTOX injection is good alternative, but it is a bit expensive and it lasts just 3 months. Greetings from Chile.

@@daninisco thanks for the tip - we'd heard of botox injections to help bladder control but hadn't heard of it as a treatment for spasms before. Do you know how it works/where we can find more info?

Yeah it is, it's great! That particular one is really old so not sure where it came from but we have beach/swimming towels of a similar size - they seem to be the next best in terms of size. Have you tried looking online?
