I love that encounter 4 is simultaneously harder than vault but also infinitely easier. Harder, because it flashbangs you with a lot of things at once, but easier in that the mechanic is literally the “that’s right, it goes in the square hole” meme.

@@Kjf365 Key:You send room shape to the statue with the same shape. Once you have 2 shape that match your statue. send one shape to the other two statues. Lock: You remove what doesn't match the room statues shape Witness death: Match ghost to guardian. That is the simplified of it.

@@Kjf365 Yeah I've been there for teaching a few people and a lot of it is hearing them put their head in their hands through the mic as we explain, and then they get it in a few good attempts

Fun fact: During the podcast, the host asked the people who designed the 4th encounter “how do you explain the verity encounter to a new player?”. The answer was laughter and silence 😂

Yeah and that’s bad level design if you can’t seriously answer a question about something you make that your players ask then you didn’t make something accessible unless you genuinely want to take hours talking and arguing to random people you’ll never talk to again

@@TrippyGhxstI mean, the raid is supposed to be difficult, it’s the last main one in the saga. Even then, raid encounters (including verity) are simple enough to be understood easily by actual children.

@@TrippyGhxst the fourth encounter is actually not very difficult, doing full 5 man sherpas yeah maybe not so fun but as long as 2/3 know how to disect then its very easy. for the most part me and my fireteam do it in complete silence because you can kinda just autopilot the entire encounter. the problem is that its very easy to mess up but as long as people dont give up after 2 tries then most fireteams really shouldnt struggle

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I seriously wish I would have played this game so much sooner than when I started, which is not that long ago. The story of this game and the players who have been apart of it, whether it be from the start or a few years ago, it’s simply amazing. An unbelievable end to an unbelievable saga of a story that isn’t even finished yet, which I’m happy to at least know about (to an extent) and now be apart of, even if it’s as late as it is.

I had an absolute blast playing with the Hidden Disciples! It was a wonderful journey, and I hope to do more with yall!

Fuck... those pre and post final mission cutscenes tear me up every day time i see them. The first because the hype is REAL, the latter because its so fucking sad and then even sadder and then ok again... Bungie NAILED IT this expansion with each and every cutscene through out the campaign and final mission. Fantastic! 11/10 hands down!

I still find it funny how all the scorn waited for zavala to finish his speech before fighting

My team had almost the exact same experience as yours did, albeit with a little more trouble lol. We had a bunch of switchouts last minute and weren't too locked in, and ended up merging with another team after the first day since half of them quit. But the first encounter took us 14 hours total to beat, and after that we were like "okay that's good enough" knowing that we wouldn't get a contest clear, but happy to get the first encounter done. It was so nice to see people having the same experience, and feeling the same stages of emotions that I felt after that day.

The easiest way to explain and understand the 4th Encounter is this... The 4th Encounter is the Witness imprisoning us and labeling us with a Final Shape forged in darkness (2D) which we refute and choose our own Final Shape forged in the light and dark (3D) which is the Key to Unlocking our Prison...

Been playing destiny and watching destiny videos for years. How has KZread not recommended you sooner? Great channel dude!

Cynthia’s prelude and theme was a great selection for the Witness.

I really wish we could've beat it together when I got subbed in but I'm glad Apples got to finish it with y'all. GGs, glad you showed the Witness what The Hidden Disciples are all about

I was on Rylee Relaodeds' Team. Day 1 was real rough, we shoulda raided more before hand lol we started real late too. got the W on Monday.

The 4th encounter is so fun even if it requires a degree quantum physics to understand

I will say, this was an amazing, beautifully crafted way to end the Light and Darkness saga and I can't wait to see what Bungie dose next. But first, I got to clear every raid (never played or beaten a raid).

I haven't gotten to do the Raid yet, sadly. BUT I got to do GM Excision and it was SO MUCH FUN. Seeing Zavala cloaking up in Stasis gave me chills. Will say, the fact we never had a proper name for our Ghost makes me sad. I DID NOT KNOW YOUR FIRETEAM COULD BE SITTING THERE WITH YOU! I did it solo, so it was just me... :c

ive never EVER been in an activity so complex it requres the use of MS paint to figure out... until encounter 4

So what I'm gathering about encounter four is that when someone is given a 2d shape have to pass over to them whatever 3d object that can't be made with their 2d shape. So say someone has triangle, they would want cylinder because no "side" of a cylinder is made up of a triangle. Then just make sure you bring the correct ghost to its guardian to finish the round. I probably completely misread whatever is supposed to be actually happening, this is the first time I've actually seen any of the raid, so I have no idea. But unless I'm corrected later, I think a chunk of it.

I love 4th encounter so much. But man... trying to explain it is a lot and always will be alot. Probably one of the coolest encounters Destiny has ever done though. Really do enjoy the fact that it makes people also wear armor types they never would, to make themselves as easily distinguishable as possible. Like, as an example I was running the RoN chestplate for Warlock, since well... its very hard to mistake extra arms for someone else with the normal amount of arms. Also makes the new armor pieces from the raid very valuable cause they stand out, quite alot for both Hunter and Warlock.

The house bread day one team got stuck on first encounter and gave up shortly after switching to burger callouts. This raid was hard and I love it! This is was a real challenge looks like, more hard puzzles with less to go off of.

i will never not be stressed watching 4th encounter of this raid

Encounter 1 for my team took 5 hours I think which was nearly our time on RoN. Second encounter though that took like 12 hours. We got to third saw it was easy gave it a few attempts but decided to call it there as we knew at this point we weren't beating 4th. Honestly though I think we could have done it. Witness though might have been another story.

It took my team 9 hours to clear first encounter and then everyone ended up leaving after multiple hours and attempts at second encounter props to you bro for being able to beat it

Honestly I really like the Verity encounter, even though it's confusing as hell. Like it's one of those encounters that still requires thinking even after knowing all the mechanics as one slip up can be a wipe.

I'm still in AWE at how difficult the raid was, Bungie saw the feedback on RoN and went "You say sum?."

I know my team got shafted by schedules, which was unfortunate. But, still proud of them. We are team that has been able to clutch out on more than a few Day 1's (wear my King's Fall Emblem with Pride), so while we couldn't really get all that far on contest, with a collective total of around ten hours in the raid, we where able to get through the first encounter, get through the first boss, and ALMOST clear the third encounter/literally be 5 extra seconds away from winning but one of our team had to go after that wipe. Still very proud of them, cause we came back on that Sunday and while it took the whole day, we eventually killed the witness and claimed victory! And for a raid as tough as this, getting week one still feels pretty dam good. Glad the clear was eventually had! And fond memories where shared. Here's hoping there's still some more to come!
