Vermicelli is a type of rice noodle which is a whole different category devoid of starch or gluten. Many Asian countries have completely different set of dishes specifically centered around rice noodles which could have been another video. If they are talking about wheat/flour based noodles (as they have done for every other country apart from India) then in the case of India they could have spoken about the tradition of making a completely vegetarian dish combining wheat flour based dough with some kind of dal (pulses) in cooked liquid state with added tempering of cumin, red chillies and ghee. This is commonly done in various parts of the country. It's called Dal ki Dulhan in UP, Dal Dhokli in Gujarat, Varan Phal in Maharashtra and Dal Pithi in Bihar.

"Indomie" comes from the words "Indonesia" and "Mie" (noodles). It is indeed very popular in other countries such as Nigeria and Turkey. Beside that, more authentic Indonesian noodles are Yamin Noodles, Chicken Noodles Soup, and Meatball Chicken Noodles. I am a noodle lover from Indonesia. ^^

I'm English, and live in a large town which is a major rail hub. We have an annual food+drink festival where many street vendors come, and cover the town square and beyond. A while ago, some of them had so much success they decided to band together to buy an unused covered walkway's floor space [Alongside a local fruit+veg wholesaler] and set up stands there [alongside an outdoor fruit+veg market]. This walkway leads up a hill; from one exit of the major shopping center to another, where the town square; library and high street are. This exit had a large Burger King. And a Vietnamese Street food vendor set up right next to *that exit.* If you would walk out that exit at lunchtime, you would see a queue before you got to the BK. It wasn't for Burger King. *It was for the Vietnamese stall.* You've heard of queues coming out of stores out of a mall? This is a queue backing up into one! The Burger King is now out of business. The Vietnamese stall is still there. Alongside Japanese, South African, and things like good old grilled cheese sandwich and bacon stalls. Their most popular dish is by far Pho, and they easily do the most business there with the possible exception of the fresh fruit+veg market which is like x5 their size. The combined endevour is so successful the council replaced all the old lighting of the walkway, and renovated the place so it was generally nicer than just a roof between two sets of brick walls.

Mie Aceh(Aceh is a Province in Indonesia) sometimes comes with lime juice/wedges. But I like a little lime juice with Mie Goreng. It's cuts the oil and make it more balance. But there is one must haves condiments beside crispy shallots and pickles that usually comes with Mie Goreng, it's shrimp crackers or Emping crackers.

indian noodles can be called in different names like seviyam/semiya (vermicelli), a sweet dish that is made by soaking thin noodle pieces in milk that is called padhir peni which is a famous dish of south india and also a keralian dish called idiyappam that is both famous in kerala and tamilnadu which is round pancakes of rice noodles which more or less looks like the pho that is shown here but they are served with vegetarian or non vegetarian curries. and i believe there's much more dishes all over india with different names in different tastes... since i'm from tamilnadu, i only know of limited dishes owing to my lesser experience with cooking... so indians from any other state please add your local dishes that has similar dishes to those i had mentioned here.

Altough Cacio e Pepe IS an Italian dish with noodles they are not known and eaten everywhere. They originated from Emilia Romagna, you CAN find them in some resturant around Italy but not in all of them. If you want a dish that rappresent all Italy I would say Pastasciutta (Pasta with italian tomato sauce) or Carbonara (original italian recipe).

To me, there's nothing better on a cold day than a warm bowl of ramen or udon noodle soup. In fact, my favorite Japanese restaurant in Monterey is a small but cosy spot call Ocean Sushi Deli. Don't let the name deceive you, there's more to this place than meet the eye. In addition to sushi, they also serve ramen and udon noodle soup. For me, it's the perfect place to take a long lunch break.
