Regarding 2:43 Your goal as a student should not only be limited to making work products that you think your professors would be satisfied with. It should also be to make work products that YOU are satisfied with and in fact proud of submitting. It makes the work a lot more fulfilling and more often than not SIGNIFICANTLY increases its quality. Keep up the good work king, we’re all rooting for you.
I started watching you for your unique humor, but honestly its been a big inspiration to me seeing just how much you've improved yourself over the years. Keep being you man

Can you believe guys, Christmas! Just a week away!
Every now and then I open up the video where you announce the first slide hack competition from nearly 6 years ago. Even though I didn't win anything in the first competition, you gave a shoutout to my Nathanial Bandy slide hack submission and used it as the second competition theme. I was going through a really dark part of my life and it meant so much to me I thought I should let you know. Can't wait to see all the new slide hacks. I bet there is going to be some crazy submissions with decomp now.
your work ethic and your overall motivation as you're moving through this part of your life is nothing short of inspiring. i'm being completely honest when i say that you're one of the most respectable dudes i've ever had the pleasure of discovering on the internet, and i wish you the best going forward. stay awesome, dad. ❤
Working on my dissertation right now, about a year from getting the PhD. I wish I had an ounce of the confidence you seem to have during this process, haha. Already doing work as a professor, and it's rare to see students as conscious of their abilities and willing to push themselves to be better. Congrats on the first semester down! You got this.

@@SimpleFlips I appreciate that, thanks! Same to you
Merry Christmas to you too Simple!
It's great to hear you're taking your degree so seriously. I just got mine, and it's really nice to see a creator promote that strong study ethic. It's what got me through, and I know so many people that failed that could have passed if they just applied themselves. Also, i'm really excited for the Slide competition, the rom hacking comps are always a lot of fun
I hope you would be live right now, wouldn’t want you to die
thank you for addressing the microphone
The community was in remiss, the had never seen someone as dedicated and inspiring as this
Hey Simple, as someone who is starting their first semester of university in the fall (with similar ambitions to go to Law School), it really is inspiring to see not only the utter dedication you have towards your classes, but the apparent drive you possess to push yourself towards academic perfection since you know you’re fully capable of achieving it. These updates really do mean a lot, and can’t wait to see further success in the future!
Glad to hear some stories about your semester. You're doing amazing. And also, merry Christmas 🫡
I know how you feel man, every year that I attended University I wanted to strive to be better, just be sure not to overdo it. It'll be a battle but i believe in you Simple!
Seeing you go back and do college courses is really inspiring. As someone of a similar age that’s returning to college in the fall, seeing this have given me some renewed hope.

I'm so proud of you, Simple It's just so nice to see you improving yourself in these ways and it makes me so happy :3
I love these updates, you are such an inspiration to me. Keep on keeping on
Happy end of the semester! Keep that high standard up fam, I didn't and I'll probably have to retake some classes for higher grades down the line because of it... But im working on my work ethic/attention problems! Thank you for entertaining us for the past 5-6 years!
Actually so motivating. It’s really nice to see and hear you doing well.
Thanks for sharing that stuff about your semester! 4.0 is a huge undertaking depending on what you're going into for sure, but with your self-motivation and talent you will be more than capable. Glad everything's going well with school.
Dude your experience and how far you've came is so inspirational, you've set yourself goals and locked in and that's just amazing. Your journey has genuinely been an inspiration for me and I'm sure it has with many others too. Keep up with the great work and amazing content Simple!
It's absolutely wild that you're able to do great at college, lose a bunch of weight, stream, and make great youtube videos all at the same time.
this is super accurate to my experience too. it took so long before i realized i actually needed to put in effort and be the kind of student i want to be. it is never too late to start trying! you can always turn it around, gotta keep up hope and try your best! this goes to everyone too, not just students. good luck to everyone (:
Wow, i've been watching for years and years and it's crazy to see how much you've grown as a person. You are 100% my biggest inspiration at the moment. Things like gym and college are so intimidating to me but you talk about it like it's nothing. I'm definitely going to have to start on my journey soon, thank you for everything
that’s the main reason I haven’t gone back to school yet. In high school, I didn’t care. you couldn’t PAY me to care, I barely tried and almost didn’t graduate and I need to know that I will put my all into it first. I refuse to go back to school until I know I won’t waste it.
Hearing stuff about how good you're doing makes me incredibly happy dude. I am so excited to see where you continue to go and grow
Proud of you, my dude. I wish I had put that much effort into my first attempt at going to college, so it's awesome to see someone else so motivated to get it right the first time. You got this!
I'm a few semesters away from getting my associates, and im really considering whether or not i want to go further than that but your confidence is infectious. Thank you for sharing your journey
Proud of you for really turning around your performance in college after seeing what you were getting from the effort you were putting in, always liked how you seemed to be able to turn stuff around like that after seeing the first set of results. After I'm done being sick, I'm wanting to start hitting up the gym again, you've been a real inspiration in that part of my life.
I’m glad to hear your semester has change you to improve how you approach school and want to make sure you do your best, honestly though I’m that person though who only tries to do best enough to pass the class instead of trying to perfect his classes and what I learn. I’d say though I still did well with how I wanted to with this semester, got 4 A’s and only one B and all my classes weren’t what I am going for since I’m going for a digital media bachelor’s degree for game design and three out of the five classes weren’t art related so I didn’t mind as much how well I did in those classes than the classes that is related to my major but I’m very satisfied with the 90-95% I got in my digital media class and my art history class.
You're such an inspiration. Love your content and everything you do.
great job with the improvement, good luck with the retake!
congrats man
This is awesome to learn, congratulations on pretty much everything
Good video. I have also been struggling with perfectionism in math tests. I usually will get every question I answer right, but I answer way less questions than other people.
You've become such an amazing inspiration and role model!
I love to hear about your university journey! As a university student myself, it's really cool to see you taking these classes that I recently took as well. I'm glad you're motivated to get good grades! Your content is always fun to watch. :)
Hell yeah Simple! As someone who's almost finished my second year in college, seeing you experience college and staying motivated motivates me to finish this year strong. Thank you!
Your videos seriously make me so happy. I just want to, like, send you love. 💙 Please keep posting these as the semesters go by!
I like that you used puzzle league music in the background, very relaxing and nostalgic, good fit for the video.
Your change of attitude, towards wanting to give your all and get everything you deserve for your efforts, is one of the main reasons I'm a proponent of going to college - specifically when it's safe and tenable for people to do it. Of course, I recognize that college isn't the only way for people to chase their dreams with ambition, all walks of life that cause no harm and bring fulfillment are equally valid. I personally never fully got to the same point of "give my 100% in 5 classes a semester," but even as my mental health and disability proved to be difficult to manage, and had to scale back from a double major to a single major as I started running out of financial aid, I didn't stop chasing the experiences I wanted to have in university. It's a shame and unfair that these life experiences and opportunities aren't equally accessible for those who want and need it in the "land of opportunity," but that's a whole other rant. I've still yet to make use of my degree, 3 years out from graduation as of today, but I'm in a much different physical and mental space than I was then and I'm thinking of using this summer as a chance to attempt living out yet another dream of mine, since it's time I got back up on my feet and kept walking forward and see where that takes me.
It makes me happy to hear about your improvement, specially since you've been an inspiration for me for like 8 years or so. I'm also interested in taking psychology and I'm about to finish law school in my country so it's nice to see we have that in common. I hope you keep learning and improving.
I really appreciate this kind of video. Thank you for being an inspiration Simple. I'd be very eager to see you talk about time management/perfectionism. I feel I overdo or overcomplicate things too often, as I even had a coworker snap at me for it (and it was a really sudden reality check). That level of study sounds tremendous though. Finding that balance is the hardest part in my opinion, but possible, and I hope you and everyone else here accomplishes exactly what they want to.
I'm so proud of you! Keep it up!
super proud of you, Simple!
Simple, honestly one of my biggest inspirations to do better in all aspects of my life. I'm currently in my first quarter as a Sophomore in college and hearing simple talk about not settling for a version of yourself that you are not happy with. It has helped me a lot in the past year or two going through one of the hardest stretches of my life. Thank you simpleflips
Congrats Simple! Good on you for being motivated in college.
Really happy for you dude
I'm glad to here about your progress simple you're an inspiration
Thank you for being a pillar of community, Simple
Thanks for sharing this vid simple!
Never give up, Simple! Keep trying your best and doing your best to learn how master these subjects. I'm jealous of the drive and attention you can dedicate to these things, certainly making the journey look easy.
Love to hear it Simple, keep it up!
Bro you just encouraged me to apply for college screw you now imma be in debt but fr your drive and desire to constantly improve is extremely admirable and pushes me to constantly seek self improvement, thanks legend
What fun bgm choice :) everything changes!
You inspire me to keep improving myself bro!
I watched the entire stream from the first minute all the way to the end! What a stream! First stream I’ve watched too!!! Keep up with the W content Simple!!!!
Finally caught this SimpleFlips video. He spent 6 minutes explaining how he changed his mindset about his schooling to better himself, helping me to realize that I need to put way more effort in at school if I want to be fully prepared for graduation and to make my parents proud. Great inspiration he is.
I love your efforts so much. You are so special and awesome.
Good for you! I just graduated with my Master's in CS myself. I respect your drive.
Hell yeah man, keep up the great work!
hi simp! i want to say youve always been a huge inspiration/comfort to me for a couple of years now, i am graduating highschool in the next couple of weeks and will hopefully starting my college journey later this year. you genuinely are one of the greatest entertainers and having seen some of the highs and lows throughout the channel, you truly have made such a positive impact for me when things were tough. keep it it up!!!! (also yo waddup)
im starting college in a few months and this video made me feel more motivated to try really hard to get good grades
GOOD JOB BRO!!!!! we are doing college at the same time by chance, you are my inspo
You're an inspiration, truly.
It's great to hear that you're not afraid to reach out to professors! I'm sure you've already heard this, but I can't stress enough how helpful it is to cultivate relationships with them. It was a key element in finishing my own degree when I went back to school.
Yo waddup, college life is insane to go through. Hope your journey works out man, I'll be a regular here like usual. Keep it up man, some classes can be hard to grasp but you'll make it, hope psychology helps you out in a lot, and lets hope law school kicks in high drive.
I’m super proud of your college journey bro
God, I fucking love this guy.
Happy Holidays Simple
hugely inspired by your constant need for improvement, proud of you mr flips
Been a viewer since as long as I can remember, but I've always been pretty conscious of commenting on videos for some reason - but wanted to say this is honestly a super inspiring account of your experience. I studied Psych for a year right after graduating high school and super enjoyed it, transitioned into education and everything started falling apart haha, but ever since then I've wondered what would happen if I went back and finished that degree... this genuinely might be the push I needed to give that degree another shot, I seriosuly think I might find a real direction in my life through it. also wish I could find me a cafeteria apple guy damn
I struggled quite a bit with university. Learning to learn feels mind blowing after coasting through high school (despite an arguably higher average workload). With writing, the most helpful thing for me was vomiting my ideas and thoughts onto the page, sort of like combining the brainstorming and outlining step into one. It meant I always had something I could submit, if I had to prioritize other assignments. It generally worked well for coding too, even if there's a bit of extra work needed to ensure the code runs (sometimes, optional). With extra time, you can revise (rewrite, not edit) and usually end up with something pretty well thought out and interrogated by the second draft.
keep at it man, just graduated with honors recently if i would of tried i could of pushed a 4.0 but i went into without putting much effort
yo waddup (christmas edition)
I hope you post more vods soon on the clips channel ❤❤ I’m excited for the Mario/bandy streams
Keep up the good work. College Algebra was my last class for my Bachelor's and it took me 3 times to pass it because I hate math and refused to give it my all. So I commend you for wanting to do better in your math because you KNOW you can.
Enjoy yourself in college, man! Even though I have not really used my education for anything yet, the experiences I had there, and the life lessons I learned along the way, were well worth the time and money. Honestly, you juggling school, workouts, and content creation, to me is just mind-boggling; like, how do you have the time for all that?
As of an hour after uploading. He is in fact streaming. And merry Christmas to you too!
Congratulations, you never stop being an inspiration to me
As someone who just graduated college, I want to say I’m so proud of you in all you do. Keep it up king.
Yo congrats on finishing your first semester! Glad you got a sociology course in, that's what I just finished my degree in Saturday. (:
I also just ended my semester, and I’m sure many of us have as well (congrats to those in school!) And Woo, new comp!
Hey simple! This video made me think about your history speed running, and I wondered if you think that kind of discipline and focus has translated into all of your self improvement journeys and strategies. I feel like grinding out a speedrun and not giving up for hours and days for small improvements feels analogous to studying etc. I really related to your description of your college goals before buckling down and locking in, because I definitely didn’t try my hardest through college, even though I’m proud I got my degree.

I definitely see parallels and apply what I learn in one discipline to the others. I believe all competitive gaming outlets have the capacity to teach you to stoicism in adversity, how to always locate the lesson to learn, and how to evaluate big picture concepts as a whole.
Im currently in college, too, and I've found the best thing to help me with studying or, overall, any coursework is to make the topic interesting for yourself. Im in engineering and have to take classes such as ethics and social perspectives (to name a few). Since i made the stuff interesting for me, it really improved the quality of my papers and even got me nominated to speak at a conference!( I couldn't do it though due to other commitments)
merry christmas simple! :3
I have nothing to say to this beautiful moment except yo waddup
God, you’re doing great Simple. Great hustle. So proud of you, secondhand pride of course. I don’t know you personally or anything.
Hey Simple! I'm going to start graduating in Psychology as well next semester (or at least I hope so, Strikes are kinda tense in brazilian public universities). Watching videos like these make me really want to think about what kind of professional I want to be, or even what kind of person I want to be. Really glad to see you do your best, really makes me want to try my best as well. Love you, Simple!
Love you Simple
im sure there’s other people in the comments that also went to school as well. all im gonna say is this, if it starts getting rough for you mentally to keep up with everything, just make the best effort to be good at your major classes. everybody has different experiences. hell, i did art and something i had to learn was that some classes needed to go on the back burner in order for myself to succeed in what i wanted to be. i graduated a few years ago but dont use my major cause it burned me out. i hope you can stick to it all the way through and get that 4.0 that you’re striving for. its an amazing accomplishment to have!!!!!
